Notes

This year is all about participation, there is no travel involved and we hope that groups will take the opportunity to give their participants a taste of competition and achievement, especially those groups who do not usually get the chance to take part. Celebrate restarting by giving it a go! ** Groups should undertake a COVID-19 risk assessment for activities needed in order to compete in the Virtual Regional Qualifiers and National Championships and have Track and Trace protocols in place. For those classes that have a side walker then the COVID-19 RDA rules apply. This is currently that a single side walker accompanying the competitor must wear a mask and keep a distance of 1m on the opposite from the leader unless from the rider's household/support bubble. Leaders may be from outside the household or support bubble as long as social distancing is maintained with mitigation. If a rider has 2 sidewalkers then they must be from their bubble. Please be aware that these COVID-19 rules are subject to change. ** The Virtual Regional Qualifiers will be run in accordance with the 2021 Rule Book which is available in the National Championships section of the myRDA website. Tack & Saddlery must be correct and riders must wear normal competition dress both in accordance with the RDA Rule Book. Any leaders or side walkers must wear correct clothing & footwear. This might be no more than group or school sweatshirts - so don't be put off! Before recording entries please ensure that you consult the RDA weight chart to ensure that all horse/rider combinations are suitable. Please remember that each horse may only be videoed a maximum of five ridden classes including lead rein on one day. These must not comprise of more than four in any one discipline. All qualifying tests may take place on grass, all weather arena or in a covered school. For Dressage, Countryside Challenge, Show Jumping and Musical Ride classes videos need to be uploaded as a URL at the time of entry. For info on How to Video your Entry and set up YouTube Account to upload it from: myRDA.org.uk > National Championships > Useful Info & Resources > Virtual Competition Resources Each video must be recorded in one take and not be edited in any way, sound must be on at all times. All videos must state class, rider’s name, group name, date of recording & that it is for the East Region Qualifier. Entries to Arts & Crafts classes is by photograph, these to be uploaded at time of entry.
We have been told that **Failure to state class, rider’s name, group name, date of recording & that it is for the East Region Qualifier will count as an error of course and result in a 2pt penalty in Dressage classes** New COVID guidance for sidewalkers from 21st June 2021 - see Caroline Ward's email to groups on 17th June
