Focusing on X country technique and skills as well as confidence building and problem solving. Whether you are an established combination, a novice rider or riding a young or inexperienced horse, Lucinda will bring out the best in each combination, making sure you enjoy your session with plenty to take away.

Sessions will be 1hour 45 mins with no more than 4 riders per group to ensure you get the most out of your masterclass. Suitable for horse rider combinations confidently jumping 80cm and above.

Sessions will make use of the fantastic x country schooling facilities giving you the opportunity to school over a range of fences including water complex, roll tops and selection of jumps.

BHS North is delighted to welcome legendry rider and trainer Lucinda Green MBE for a X country masterclass clinic.

Lucinda is a British Equestrian and Journalist who competed in eventing. She is the 1982 World Champion and twice European Champion (1975–77). Lucinda also won World team Gold (1982), three European team golds (1977, 1985, 1987) and an Olympic silver medal in the team event in 1984.

Between 1973 and 1984, she won a record six times at the Badminton Horse Trials (on six different horses). Lucinda also won the Burghley Horse Trials in 1977 and 1981.

Event Terms & Conditions

Bookings & Cancellations
• British Horse Society training days/courses are checked for viability around ten working days beforehand. Any that have insufficient numbers may be cancelled. In this case, delegates who have booked will receive a full refund (minus booking fees) or free transfer should another suitable training day/course be pending.
• Training day/course fees are non-refundable if the delegate cancels in less than ten working days from the training day/course start date, without a medical certificate. If a medical certificate is provided, it must be received by post or email within five working days of the training day/course. All cancellations need to be in writing.
• If a training day/course is cancelled, each delegate will be phoned or an email sent, advising them of the cancellation and offered either a refund or free transfer should another suitable training day/course be pending.
• It is important that each delegate ensures that we have their correct contact details. This must include a telephone number with an answering service. If messages are left for candidates regarding a training day/course cancellation, or if we are unable to leave a message and delegates arrive at a venue for a training day/course that has been cancelled, any expenses incurred by them are their own responsibility.
• In the event of adverse weather conditions, a decision regarding cancellation will be made the day before the course is due to start. If the course is cancelled, each candidate will be notified by either phone, email or text message.
• We can not permit riders under the age of 18 to attend this event. Everyone attending the event is responsible for ensuring the safety of themselves and others.
• All attendees should report to the Organiser on arrival.

The Rider
• Hats to the current standard must be worn and correctly secured at all times when mounted. Please check yours meets current standards which can be found at http://www.bhs.org.uk/headwear IMPORTANT INFO FOR CROSS COUNTRY ACTIVITIES: Only a “Jockey Skull” of an even round or elliptical shape with a smooth or slightly abrasive surface, having no peak or peak type extensions may be worn for any XC activity.
• Body protectors are obligatory in all cross-country activities and should comply with current standards – also found on the BHS website at http://www.bhs.org.uk/body-protectors.
• If a rider chooses to wear an airbag style body protector for cross-country it must be
worn over a permitted BETA Level 3 body protector and if activated, must be deflated or
removed before continuing.
• All riders must wear suitable riding footwear and must have previous experience of riding the horse they have entered into the event.
• Riders are advised to be aware of the emergency contact number for the event.

The Horse
• All horses must be no younger than four years of age and be of an appropriate fitness level for the activity being undertaken – hooves and shoes must be in good condition.
• Tack must be suitable, in safe condition and fit correctly.
• Stallions may only attend this event by prior arrangement of the event organiser, please contact them at the details below.
• All horses must be up to date with annual equine influenza vaccinations. Spot checks will be made at the event. It is a legal requirement to have your horses’ passport when travelling to events.
• Horses should not be left unattended when tied to horseboxes, in the parking area or on the ride. Please respect the venues and their facilities, this includes ensuring that all droppings are picked up from the car park.

Covid-19
• Anyone feeling unwell with Covid-19 type symptoms must not attend. Please contact the organiser for a refund.
• Please park at least 5m apart in the designated parking area.
• Spectators are not allowed under any circumstances.
• Riders can only be accompanied by one other person
• Track and trace information will be taken and kept for up to 21 days after the event.
(These restrictions will be reviewed prior to the event taking place and will be updated in line with current government guidelines.)
