Event Terms & Conditions

• CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

• The Judges decision is final.
• NO COMPETITOR MAY WEAR OR USE A SPEAKER DEVICE.
• Hats MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHEN MOUNTED to current approved safety standards with chinstrap fastened.
• Horses and Ponies must be 4 years old and over. The committee will not be responsible for any loss or injury to any person, property or animal however caused.
• All horses must have a passport showing a valid vaccination record with a booster within the last 12 months of the date of the competition. NO HORSE or PONY MAY HAVE BEEN VACCINATED WITHIN THE PREVIOUS 6 DAYS PRIOR TO THE COMPETITION.
• All warming up should take place in the appropriate area and no lunging in the lorry park.
• The organisers reserve the right to cancel or alter any classes without prior notice.
• Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers, nor any person acting on their behalf accepts any liability for any loss damage accident, injury or illness to horses, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all the Officials and Stewards.
• All non Pony Club competitors are not covered by The Pony Club Insurance and must have their own third party cover. The BODSPC Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non Members and their insurance will not cover you.
• No skipping out in the car park. Please ensure any litter or droppings are removed and this includes the car park.
• NO DOGS.
• We reserve the right to eliminate any rider not wearing appropriate riding wear / and or unsafe / ill-fitting / incorrect tack.
• Stallions must be easily identified by discs. Pony club members must have written permission by their DC to compete a stallion.
• You will be allocated a time for your class.

ADDITIONAL COVID MEASURES

• Park at least 5m apart from other vehicles.
• Riders will only be able to enter the warm up area at designated times.
• Please print numbers off at home & display clearly on the rider for stewards/judges, or use bridle/saddlecloth numbers.
• All competitors MUST adhere to the current government guidelines surrounding the Covid 19 pandemic and keep a safe social distance.
• No Spectators or additional non competing children.
• Stewards will assist in warm up areas and no additional people are allowed within any warm up area, (with the exception of class 1)
• social distancing & sanitisation procedures will be in operation.
• One rider and one additional supporting person only, except for Under 18 Riders (age as of 01.01.2020) where two parents/guardians are allowed if absolutely necessary. The support person must travel in the vehicle to the event with the rider and ideally be able to drive the vehicle and horse home in the event of an accident. Supporting people must be available to help the rider alongside medical staff in the event of an accident if needed. The names of supporting persons will be asked for at the time of booking.
• No extra people will be allowed on-site other than the rider, named support person, volunteers and officials.
• Anyone vulnerable or displaying any COVID 19 symptoms must not attend.
• There will be no group prize-giving.
• Riders must leave the event as soon as possible after their final class.
PLEASE BE POLITE TO ALL STEWARDS AND HELPERS AND ABIDE BY THEIR RULES TO HELP MAKE THE EVENT RUN SMOOTHLY AND MOST OF ALL SAFELY.



ELIGIBILITY RULES

NOVICE ELIGIBILITY
Riders are NOT eligible:
• If they have represented a Branch/Centre at Open Area Dressage or above (this includes summer and/or winter Area Competitions) At Preliminary Rounds riders are NOT eligible:
• If they have won any BD (or DI) points at Novice level or above.
• If they have competed at more than two Novice My Quest/Team Quest competitions.
• If they have competed at BD Novice Music competitions
At Area Competitions and Championships riders are NOT eligible:
• If they have won more than 10 BD (or DI) points at Novice level or above.

INTERMEDIATE ELIGIBILITY
Combination of horse/pony and rider are NOT eligible:
• If they have represented a Branch/Centre at Open Area Dressage or above (this includes summer and/or winter Area Competitions).

OPEN ELIGIBILITY
Horses/ponies are NOT eligible:
• If they have won more than 10 points at Advanced Medium level or above during the current year (this includes Hors Concours entries).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Multiple Horses – competitors may qualify a maximum of three horses for the Area Competition and two horses for the Final in any one class. In the event of a rider qualifying more than two horses for the Final, they must nominate which two they will take at the Area Competition. The other qualifying place will be passed down the line.
Multiple Riders – horses may be ridden by up to two different riders at a Preliminary Round but by only one rider at Area Competitions and the final.
Multiple Levels – subject to eligibility, riders may qualify for both the Novice and Intermediate Championships OR the Intermediate and Open Championships but cannot ride the same horse at both levels.
If a combination qualifies for more than one level for the Championships, they must take the higher level forward; i.e. if they qualify for both the Novice and Intermediate Championships they must take the Intermediate place and pass the Novice place down the line.
