Flatwork Clinic with Julie Frizzell Equestrian British Event Coaches

A professional executive coach and leadership consultant, Julie combines a people-centred approach with more than 3 decades of dressage experience (at all levels and every degree of failure and success lol) to make flatwork make sense (and fun), for all, but her passion is undoubtedly in the ROR world. Having taken a Godolphin Ascot legend from 4 weeks after training to representing Great Britain in a Para Dressage International (twice), she absolutely understands the journey you are one; warts and all. She credits four national titles and one CPEDI1* win to the brilliance of the cooperative mind a thoroughbred but equally recognises the day to day challenges we face in bringing the best out in our horses (and the comedy moments when they remind us of their heritage and breeding lol). Namibian, ‘Barney’, was ROR National Elementary Champion 2019, BD ROR and BD Thoroughbred Medium Champion 2019 as well as securing Para National titles (BD) and CPEDI (international para) too. He has also danced his way to a 75%+ medium and elementary music ROR class wins, all with Julie confessing to being ‘in charge’ for at least some of the test lol.
Everyone is truly welcome, although places are at a premium, so no matter whether you’re looking at intro or medium as your starting point, dressage. SJ, eventing or another discipline, Julie can create a flatwork training plan that will maximise you and your horse’s strengths, tackle the challenges, and recognise the pure ‘ROR’ special moments we all face (when we quickly change the game plan.. and re-focus). Most importantly, she will work in partnership with you to develop your ROR friend to the best of their ability; its truly a joint effort. Spectators are welcome subject to the covid safe measures in place and sessions are 40 minutes for private coaching.

This day is a fund raiser for ROR North East and Julie is taking no personal fee from the day, “I cannot thank ROR enough for the incredible opportunities I’ve been afforded and the work they do to promote the versatility of former racehorses is groundbreaking. Godolphin Rehoming gave me a new lease of life with Namibian, so to be able support the wider community as we come out of an incredibly difficult period is an honour”, she said, “plus, I’m a Durham girl so to be able to come nearly ‘home’ for this clinic is even more special”.
