Ditches and Banks Please note there are no ditches or banks in any classes. / Water Tray Please note in Class 1, Class 2 a and b The water tray is completely optional. It will not incur any penalties, however only 3 attempts may be made, after which you will need to move onto the next fence. Class 3 The water tray can be missed out, however you will incur 20 penalties. If you attempt the water and have any problems you will incur those penalties, in addition to the 20 penalties for missing the water out. Class 4 The water tray is fully included as part of the course, and will incur penalties in line with all other fences. Please note that after 3 attempts at the water tray you will be asked to move to the next fence on the course. Technical fences / course There are no technical fences. All fences are simple inviting jumps that are collapsible and only jumped one way.
The XC course will be inviting and designed to encourage riders and build confidence. It is not technical, it is simple fences in an open space.
No entries will be accepted without payment in full. Entries close on the Monday prior to the competition. Late entries may be accepted if space permits and a late entry fee of £5.00 will be added

All entrants will be supplied with a number to wear with string on your back but bibs are preferable . All hats must be of the current PC / RC standards and be correctly fitted, with tight chin straps fitted as per manufacturers guidelines.
TIMES: Will be available online www.widmerequestrian.co.uk/times on the Friday afternoon before the competition.
COURSE WALKING: The ground will be open from 1pm to 4pm on the Saturday before the
PRIZES: All entrants will receive a rosette when they declare with the secretary. 1st -6th place rosettes for each class. Widmer feeds Country Store will kindly be awarding prize vouchers 1st to 3rd to spend in store . They are valid for THE SHOW DAY ONLY.
Helpful Hints for Beginners
Ponies and riders should be neatly turned out, with beige jodphurs, a jacket and tie for dressage and show jumping and gloves for dressage. Riders may wear coloured shirts for cross country. A solid coloured numnah (contrast piping allowed) and girth for dressage and show jumping. For dressage you may carry a whip but your pony must not wear a martingale, grass reins (except Class 1), boots or bandages. You may use a neck strap. All long hair and all girls hair unless very short must be tied in a hair net. Prize giving must be attended in your dressage clothes and with your hat. Body Protectors are compulsory for show jumping and XC and they must comply with current rules.
RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY . 1.This event is run under Pony Club Eventing Rules 2018. Please read the rules, which can be downloaded from the Pony Club website, before entering, and abide by them at all times. The rules will have the following exceptions: a. If you have three refusals at one fence you may go on, at the Judge’s/Steward’s discretion. b. If you are eliminated in the Show Jumping you may go on to the Cross Country phase ONLY IF you have the permission of the Show Jumping Judge that you are safe to continue (whose decision is final). c. Classes 1, 2, - the Dressage test may be ridden in any normal riding bit (such as a snaffle, gag, or pelham type with a straight bar, single joint or french link). Classes 3 and 4 the Dressage test must be ridden in a snaffle type bit. d. Class 1 and 2a may wear grass reins. e. The cross country course is not timed in any of the classes. f. Some fences may be wide flagged to assist horse / pony and riders.
2. A horse/pony may only be entered in a max of two classes, They must be classes that run concurrently if ridden by the same rider; A horse / pony may compete in a non-concurrent second class with a second rider. b. All horses/ponies must be 4 years old or over. No stallions.
3. Dressage tests may be called for all classes
4. BODY PROTECTORS are compulsory for show jumping and cross-country.
5. A fastened hat must be worn at all times when mounted . Please ensure you are wearing a hat that conforms to the 2018 standards, with the chin strap tightly secured, as per manufacturers guidelines. If in doubt, please refer to the Pony club website. This will be checked before the dressage . A fastened hat must be worn at all times when mounted.
6. Any competitor who has a fall or sustains a serious injury anywhere at the competition site must see medical personnel on the day and be passed fit to ride before riding that horse in a further test or before riding any other horse. Any competitor having a fall injury needs to report to the Secretary to have the fall logged in the Accident log.
7. Objections may be lodged, in writing, to the Secretary with a £10 deposit within 10 minutes of the publication of the results for that class.
8. Excessive use of whip or spurs will result in disqualification, the judges decision is final.
9. All withdrawals must be made by the closing date.
10. If cancelled, £5.00 will be retained from the entry fee; the balance will be paid on receipt of a stamped addressed envelope.
11. All dogs must be kept on a short lead, and are not allowed on the cross country course when it is open.
12. Please do not muck out lorries/trailers in the car park and take all litter and hay home.
13. The Judges decision is final.
14. Health, safety and welfare: The organisers have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards.
15. Legal liability: Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event , employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever.
