4635 Inter County Test Riding Day - Hertfordshire

This is the test riding day for the Herts Inter County team for the Inter County Challenge being held at Bury Farm on 12-13th July 2025

The 12 team riders (2 Intro, 4 Prelim, 4 Novice, 2 Elementary) will be selected from this event.

Please do check your eligibility prior to entering - the criteria was emailed to all riders who attended one of our viewing days and can be emailed upon request to any riders who plan to come to the test riding day only.

THE FORMAT

This event will be held at Bayford Hall Farm (postcode SG13 8PR; What3Words ///urgent.riding.purple).  Our team trainers are the fabulous Dan Sherriff and Daisy Coakley 

If you choose to do a warm up test, this has been priced so as to not include any pre-test training from our team trainers but is a good opportunity to let your horse familiarise / re-familiarise themselves with the outdoor arena at Bayford Hall Farm.

An alternative option for arena familiarisation is to pay £5 for (approx) 10 minute arena walk before the tests at each level begin.

For the team selection tests (which have been priced at £45.00 and not the usual £50.00 to give a discount to those who do not wish to do the arena familiarisation), you will warm up in the indoor arena with some assistance from one of our team trainers before going on to ride your test in the outdoor arena.  There is an option for you to do a test at 2 different levels.  Scores and results will be posted outside the green portacabin next to the indoor school.  Complimentary refreshments will be available on the day for you to help yourselves to.  The top two combinations in Prelim, Novice and the riders who come first at Intro and Elementary will automatically make the final team, with the remaining team members being selected via wildcard allocation at the county coordinator and trainers' discretion.   All riders will be informed of the final team outcome by the Tuesday after the test riding day.

·       Intro 2 warm up and Intro 3 team selection test.  BD bronze section riders only

·       Prelim 4 warm up and Prelim 5 team selection test.  BD bronze section riders only

·       Novice 4 warm up and Novice 5 team selection test.  BD bronze section riders only

·       Ele 4 warm up and Ele 5 team selection test.  BD bronze section riders only

·       Dress - normal competition wear (BD rules apply to tack etc), plait if you wish.

·       Run and judged under BD rules

·       Photography – Holly Outtridge will be our photographer on the day

·       Rosettes to all riders in the team selection tests
