This event aims to provide an opportunity for competition and for advanced training for combinations to prepare for Drag Hunting.
The event also aims to raise money for the Armed Forces Equine Charity. A potion of revenue will be given to this charity which delivers equine assisted programmes for the recovery and recreation of serving and veteran personnel and their families.

In attending events of the STAFF COLLEGE DRAGHOUNDS, I acknowledge that equestrian activities are high risk sports. I accept that it is a condition of my participating with the Staff College Draghounds that:
1. All classes will be run in accordance with Official Pony Club Rules (optimum times set by event committee).
2. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that neither the organisers (SCDH) or landowners or their agents shall be held responsible for any loss, injury, death, damage to competitors, spectators, their property, horses or ponies, how so ever caused.
3. All competitors are reminded of the need for appropriate personal insurance to cover self, horse, equipment, property, vehicle and personal liability and third-party claims.
4. The Organisers of the Event have taken precautions to ensure the health and safety of all who are present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers, Stewards and Officials.
5. Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times. Please refrain from using extendable leads.
6. The Event Planning Officer and Event Conduting Officer reserve the right to refuse an entry or to ask any individual to leave the site without explanation.
7. No horse may run more than once in a Hunter Trial class or more than twice in the day.
8. All horses & ponies must be at least 4 years of age.
9. Riders who are under 18 years of age are to have their entry form counter-signed by their parent or guardian

11. Competitors will need to bring their own bib and print off numbers. Competitors must wear a bib to take part in any class.
12. Stopwatches are not allowed in the Hunter Trial classes but may be work in the clear round cross country classes. Head and/or body cameras are not allowed.
13. No one is to enter the warm-up arena on foot (the practice fences are not adjustable).
14. The organisers reserve the right to eliminate any rider due to dangerous, careless or improper riding. If a rider chooses to carry a whip and/or spurs they must conform to Pony Club XC rules.
15. Jump penalties will be awarded in line with Pony Club rules. In the event of equality, the combination closest to the optimum time will be the winner.
16. Queries about scores must be made to the Secretary. Objections and Appeals to be in writing and accompanied by a £10 deposit, are to be made to the Secretary within 10 minutes of the posting of results at the event. The deposit is liable to be forfeited if the objection or appeal is considered to be frivolous.
17. Qualified veterinary support and medical support will be available (there will be no horse ambulance in attendance). These services can be requested at the Secretary’s Tent. Any veterinary services utilised (including horse transportation, accommodation or legal disposal of deceased animals) shall be charged to and paid by the competitor.
18. The organiser’s responsibility for runaway animals shall be limited to informing the local civil or military police. All costs incurred in any recovery including the cost of any damages incurred during the incident shall be charged to & paid by the competitor.
19. The following rules apply to conduct of the clear round cross country:
20. General Hazard Warnings for Salisbury Plain Training Area. The course and its surroundings are sited on a MOD range and training area, where live ammunition has been used. Please observe the following precautions: a. Approach and leave the course area using the signed routes and tracks. b. Do not stray away from these routes or the environs of the course. c. Do not touch any suspected munitions or any unfamiliar objects, even if you think they are safe or harmless. Any such objects sited must be reported to the Secretary’s Tent as soon as possible. d. Be on the lookout for overgrown slit trenches, bomb craters; scrap metal, wire and trip flares.
In choosing to enter a class I understand that in regard to any incident or action related to me or the horse I may be riding, I agree to indemnify and save harmless the Staff College Draghounds, its directors, its members, its Mastership, draghound officials, draghound employees or Larkhill Equestrian against any claim whatsoever or by whomsoever made

Withdrawals
Before the closing date please login to your Horse Events Account and cancel your entry. To withdraw after the closing date please contact the event Organiser secretary@staffcollegedraghunt.co.uk
Refunds
No Refunds after the withdrawal date for whatever reason. Before this date refunds to be given less the Horse Monkey booking fee and a £5 admin fee.
Event Cancelled by Organiser
In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel all entries will be refunded per class minus an admin fee of £3.00 (Booking fees are non refundable)
