WRC RULES

1. At all WRC events, everybody mounted must wear protective headgear conforming to BRC current standards at all times. These hats must be worn with the harness properly adjusted and fastened.

2. No rider will be permitted to enter any class unless correctly dressed, including hard hat, suitable footwear, jacket and jodhpurs.

2. No rider will be permitted to enter any class unless correctly dressed, including hard hat, suitable footwear, jacket and jodhpurs.

3. It is the responsibility of each competitor to enter the ring when required for each class. If for any reason a competitor is unable to enter the ring when called, it is the responsibility of the competitor to inform the ring steward of the circumstances and the ring may be held for up to 10 minuets. Competitors leaving the ring whilst the class is in progress will only be allowed back at the discretion of the judge. Only real emergencies will be accepted as reason for disrupting the class.

4. Show entry fees will only be refunded in the event of a class being cancelled or upon receipt of medical or veterinary evidence.

5. All stallions and colts must be handled or ridden by an adult (18 years and over on 1st January in the current year). All stallions 2 years and over must be bitted. Stallions must wear a bridle tag. Please declare on Entry Form.

6. All events and classes are run under the guidance of the appropriate discipline’s rules.

7. Any objection must be made in writing to the Secretary within 30 minutes of the end of the class together with £20. This will be returned if the objection is upheld.

8. Riders must keep to the designated working-in areas and pedestrians to the designated walk ways. Horses are not allowed in the vicinity of the Secretary’s office. No galloping, offenders will be required to leave the field and no refund will be made.

9. No horse or pony under the age of four may enter any jumping class and no horse or pony under the age of three may enter any ridden class.

10. Age qualifying date for rider –1st January in the current year.

11. The judge’s ruling on any matter in competition is final.

12. Distribution of rosettes at shows will be 1st to 6th, subject to number of entries in the class.

13. WRC reserves the right to alter and amend this schedule and amalgamate or divide classes, and refuse entries or membership at the discretion of the Committee.

14. Junior competitors entering classes on the lead rein may not enter any other classes off the lead rein and must remain on the lead rein at all times, with the exception of Classes 2, 45, 46 and 54.

15. Competitors having a fall at any WRC event must be checked by a First Aider before remounting and continuing. This includes all Dressage, Showing and Jumping Classes. In any case it is recommended that they are checked by a First Aider before leaving the Show ground.

16. Points/Trophies will be awarded to members where they have attended two shows or more and have fulfilled their duty day obligations.

17. Whips: must be to current British Riding Clubs 2024 rules.

18. Whiskers: It is not permitted to remove a horse’s whiskers or ear hair.

Show entry fees will only be refunded in the event of the day or a class being cancelled by the organiser or upon receipt of medical or veterinary evidence should you wish to withdraw.
