Notes

Kindly supported by Agria, the UK's only lifetime equine insurance provider, join us for an inspiring evening with Gordon Sidlow BMVS MRCVS, who will lead a presentation and discussion on Racehorse Aftercare.

During his time with the HKJC Gordon was responsible for establishing the veterinary standards, providing veterinary care for the retired racehorse population in Hong Kong, as well as monitoring the welfare of almost 900 retired racehorses donated by HKJC to Mainland China for equestrian use.  Gordon was also responsible for creating a retirement protocol.
Since returning to the UK, Gordon runs the equine side of a busy mixed practice in Mid-Devon, West Ridge Equine and has also been an Ambassador and Consultant Vet for the British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre (BTRC) since 2015. Over the years Gordon has been instrumental in establishing BTRC’s current protocols for retraining.  Gordon is one of the most experienced vets in racehorse aftercare and we are delighted that he will share this knowledge with RoR Members at our first Agria sponsored social evening and is a great opportunity to meet fellow RoR members and be part of our supportive community, regardless of where you are in your journey with your former racehorse.

While people sometimes worry about the potential for increased health problems in a former racehorse, Agria’s lifetime equine policy —the only UK horse insurance which does not add new exclusions to your vet fee cover once you make a claim — will protect your partnership. Nor does the level of veterinary cover diminish as your horse grows old.
Any Agria insurance policy purchased through RoR’s affiliate links will result in a small percentage being received by RoR. This applies to insurance policy purchased including horse, dog, cat and rabbit.

Location and timings: Pontispool Equestrian dining room at 6pm for 6.30pm followed by supper (optional) at 7.30pm.  Refreshments provided, as well as the opportunity to WIN £50 of RoR gift vouchers in our raffle.
