No Paper Numbers will be given out, all competitors must wear bridle / saddle pad numbers.
We have First Aid and Toilets on site.

BRC Rules
1. Competition shall be run generally under the rules for British Riding Clubs competitions – a link to the current year Rule Book can be found on Lothians Riding Club Website.
2. Lothians Riding Club, the organising committee, the owners of the show ground or any agent acting on their behalf cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to horses, ponies, riders, owners, grooms, ground spectators or any other persons or property whatsoever.
3. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all officials and stewards.
4. All Riding Hats must comply with the current British Riding Club Rules/ British Dressage Rules. Harnesses must be correctly adjusted and fastened. Protective Headwear should carry the quality assurance stamp of kite mark or SEI and must meet any new standard that meets or exceeds those stated in the Rules of BRC and BD. From 2016 onwards, EN1384 is not acceptable. For full details of accepted standards, check BRC website https://www.bhs.org.uk/british-riding-clubs/brc-handbook/ It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure that their hat meets the new standards (including date and quality assurance mark) and shows the original label. Failure to do so will mean that the rider is not covered by the BRC third party insurance.
5. Body Protectors are not mandatory, however if you wish to wear one, body protectors must be BETA Level 3 displaying a Blue 2018 label.
6. The use of HEAD CAMS are strictly prohibited at any BRC affiliated competition. This includes use on the head, chest, bridle or any other part of the horse or rider.
7. Riders who fall off during the competition must be deemed fit to continue riding and if they wish to do so they do it entirely at their own risk.
8. All riders must be 18 years and over. Be a member of a Riding Club (not necessarily Lothians) or if not a Riding Club Member you must hold your own 3rd Party insurance cover. 18-year-olds must provide proof of age if required.
9. All horses to be 4 years and over.
10. Horses are only permitted to compete in a maximum of 3 Dressage classes in any one day.
Additional Rules
11. Lothian’s Riding Club members will receive league table points. A 2-layer points system based on position in class and dressage score. Dressage Points will only be awarded for the first two classes’ members enter. To qualify for Points your Membership must be fully paid up in advance of any show, those who rejoin or join at a show are not able to qualify for the points at that show.
12. All entries in advance, no late entries. Entry fees (less admin charge) only refunded if the show is cancelled or withdrawn before closing date. Lothians Riding Club reserves the right to cancel a show if insufficient entries are received.
13. In view of fairness please do not enter classes competitively that you are not eligible for, HC entries are acceptable. HC Entries do not qualify for members points.
14. The Judge’s decision is final. Any complaints to be made in writing to the secretary and accompanied by £20. The complaint must be made within one hour of the incidence.
15. BHS Riding Club Rules 2025 apply to the show.
16. Please be considerate and keep horsebox/trailer parking area clean. Please pick up all droppings take your rubbish home with you and leave the venue tidy.
17. Please check the website www.lothiansridingclub.co.uk or facebook pages for updates, particularly for any decisions made due to bad weather including venue changes. Directions to the venue can be found on the Club Website.
Refund less admin fee (to cover bank charges) will be given if withdrawal before closing date. No refunds after closing date.
