4630 - 24. BD Scotland Train & Test with Gillian Peters and Niamh Meehan

Join us for Train & Test sessions with Gillian Peters and Niamh Meehan at Cabin Equestrian. Times will be between 12pm and 4pm, and will be issued no later than 5 days before the event. 

Warm-Up Perfection with Niamh Meehan (30 minutes)

• Personalised Warm-Up Session: Niamh will work with you and your horse for 30 minutes, focusing on perfecting your warm-up routine, just as you would in a British Dressage competition. You may enter the warm up 10 minutes before your designated time if you prefer more time to stretch your horses legs. 
• Test Preparation: You'll concentrate on key movements from your chosen BD test and refine your horse's general way of going, ensuring that you're fully prepared for the test environment.
• Takeaway Plan: You'll perfect a warm-up plan to use in future events, designed to enhance your dressage scores and overall test riding.

Test Riding and Feedback with Gillian Peters (20 minutes)

• Test Ride: After your warm-up, you'll have the opportunity to ride through your chosen BD test under the watchful eye of List 1 Judge Gillian Peters.
• In-Depth Feedback: Gillian will mark the test and provide detailed feedback, with a focus on ring craft, improving specific movements, and enhancing your horse's way of going. Gillian can film the test on your phone, with her comments and marks on the video, to take away and review. 
• Coaching: After reviewing your test, Gillian will offer coaching on areas needing improvement, ensuring that you leave with actionable insights and a stronger understanding of how to excel in future competitions.

Niamh Meehan (Coach)
Niamh is a dedicated dressage coach focused on developing riders' skills and creating an environment that encourages athletes to reach their full potential. With a proven track record, Niamh has guided riders to national championship success and has extensive experience with horses and riders of all levels.

As a former international competitor and coach for Paralympic and national championship riders, Niamh offers a comprehensive and personalized approach to coaching. Additionally, Niamh has worked as a groom for a top international dressage rider at the Olympics and major championships, further enhancing their expertise.

Gillian Peters (Judge)
Gillian is a BD registered coach, holding the BDCC level 2 qualification as well as the BD para coach qualification. She is also a BD list 1 and para judge and a judge educator.

Gillian rides to PSG level and is happy to work with riders at all ages and stages.  She has a particular interest in test riding and helping riders to get the most out of their competitive performance, but is also passionate about helping anyone who wants to improve with their flatwork training, whatever their age, stage or current level.
