Combined Training is a competition based on both dressage and show jumping.
Layout - you will first complete your 20 x 40 dressage test in our arena baords, you will then have up to 30mins after your dressage test finished to jump your SJ round.
Depending on if you are riding a BD or BE tests the penalties that you gain in the show jumping phase will either be added to your dressage score (BE) or deducted from your dressage score (BD) – this is how we will determine our winner.
Competitors are required to pre-enter for our Combined Training competitions, with entries closing 24 hours before the event. Clear Round Showjumping entries will be accepted on the day of the competition. Competitors must adhere to the specified order and times as outlined in our terms and conditions.
Spectators are encouraged to enjoy the event from outside the arena fence. Only one groom per competitor is permitted inside the arena. Rosettes and test sheets will be available for collection from the secretary hut once results have been posted.
Please show respect and courtesy to our stewards and officials, as they are essential to the success of our competitions. Any concerns should be directed to the secretary. Refreshments will be served during the regular operating hours of the Higher Farm Cafe from 9am to 5pm. Please note that the hours may be extended at the manager's discretion.
To enter a competition, please visit our Horse Monkey Page and select the date of the event. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Attention all visitors to our site,
Please be advised that there is a speed limit of 5mph for all vehicles on the premises. This speed is equivalent to walking pace and must be adhered to at all times.
For the convenience of all visitors, cars are required to park at the top near the cafe to allow horse boxes to park down by the arena on busy show days. Please refrain from parking in front of gateways or blocking access to the field.
All horse transport, including lorries, trailers, vans, etc., must park on the hard standing in front of the arena car park unless directed otherwise by a member of staff.
It is imperative that horses and ponies are not left tied unattended to any trailer or horsebox. Additionally, hay nets should not be attached to the outside of lorries.
We kindly ask that all litter be disposed of in the bins provided and not left in the arena or on the arena fence. Droppings must be placed in the metal muck bin, not the litter bins. Please ensure that any hay, straw, or shavings around your horsebox/trailer are removed.
In order to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors, we kindly ask that all dogs brought on site remain on leads and under control at all times. It is imperative that any dog mess be promptly picked up and disposed of in a designated bin. Please note that dogs are not permitted in any of the arenas, but are welcome in the café area.
We also request that visitors refrain from standing, climbing, or sitting on any of the fencing within or surrounding the arena. Children must be closely supervised and exhibit good behavior at all times. It is important to show respect towards the riders and their horses. Any disruptive behavior that causes offense to riders or fellow spectators may result in removal from the premises.
We have a zero-tolerance policy towards impolite behavior, and individuals displaying poor conduct may be advised to seek alternative facilities. Please be considerate of others utilizing the facility.
Any individual observed causing distress or harm to any animal will be asked to leave the premises immediately and may be reported to the appropriate authorities. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all visitors and animals.
