We are delighted to offer RoR SW Summer Camp over 14-17 Aug 2025 at Pontipsool Equestrian, near Taunton.  It matters not where you live, we welcome members from ALL regions – but please book early as numbers are limited.
Pontispool Equestrian offer top notch facilities and our camp is open to ALL levels, from the recently retired racehorse to the more experienced.   We will have full access to stables, tack rooms, wash down facilities, accommodation, social areas and an in-house catering team providing great food (plus cakes, tea and coffee).  Facilities include:  

  • Cross country course schooling areas on grass
  • 13,000 m² all-weather arena with full set of show jumps which can be sub-divided
  • Set of practice show jumps
  • Area for dressage arenas. 4 sets of dressage markers.
  • Stables
  • Lockable tack rooms
  • Straw bedding and Hay for the duration of your stay
  • Accommodation for 38 in heated cabins with beds/bunk beds and mattresses (please bring own bedding)
  • Lodge accommodation for 16 (adults only - please bring own bedding) with internal showers/toilets and use of a private lounge area.
  • Separate ladies and gents toilet and shower facilities
  • Café with TV / DVD player in café
  • Outside covered benches

Our coaches all have a proven track record working with former racehorses and knowledge of the discipline for which they are required to teach.  Coaches booked for this Camp are:

The price has been calculated at £355 which includes:
+ stabling for your horse for three nights includes straw bedding and hay.
+ 5 lessons with our top coaches,
+ food throughout for the rider (additional guests can be added at £15 per meal or £35 per day).  Vegetarians and coeliacs (gluten free diet) can be catered for included in the standard price. Any other special dietary requirements can also be provided for, however this must be requested in advance and will incur a surcharge of £10 per person per day
+ extra activities including an Agria educational evening, equi-pilates instruction, feed supplement advice and a weighbridge (subject to change)
To book your place please select the deposit option - smaller payments are also available to spread the cost, or you can select the full payment option.  Please read the T&Cs regarding refunds and please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions. Arriving on Thursday evening at 6pm to alow enough time to unload and settle in before supper at 7.30pm.  Departing on Sunday by 3pm.

5 group lessons (two each day and one on Sunday morning)

Terms and Conditions for RoR event booking and participation.

1. For ridden events your horse must be registered with RoR and riders must be 15 years of age on the 1 January of the current year.

Terms and Conditions for RoR event booking and participation.

1. For ridden events your horse must be registered with RoR and riders must be 15 years of age on the 1 January of the current year.

2. Participants MUST have their own Personal Liability Insurance Policies.

3. It is an express condition of everyone entering the venue that they do so at their own risk and voluntarily accepts the risk of injury or damage that is implicit in riding or handing a horse on the premises.

4.  In accepting these terms and conditions, entrants agree to make themselves familiar with the venue terms and conditions and adhere to any rules or signage for the venue.  This includes conditions regarding the vaccination of horses against Equine Influenza.

5.  All deposits are non-refundable. No refunds or reductions are offered for arriving late, leaving early, or inability to participate for any reason (such as lame horse/lost shoe).

6. Where the balance/full payment has been made for an event, a refund will be given only if it has been possible to fill your space on the event from a wait list.

7. The organiser reserves the right to cancel the event at any time, in which case refunds will be given. Should the organiser be forced to cancel an event the entry fee will be refunded. The organiser will not accept any contingent liability, such as travel, or any cost faced by the participant howsoever incurred.

8. Retraining of Racehorses (RoR), their servants, agents, employees and all those connected with the event venue, do not accept any liability for any damage, whether occasioned by the negligence or breach of contract or statutory duty of themselves, their servants, agents, employees or those connected with RoR or the venue or the venue's facilities or otherwise, whatsoever.

9. All accidents must be reported, and an Accident Report Form is to be completed by the coach in charge and recorded by a representative of RoR.

10. Dress code is casual, but for ridden events hats to the current standard must be worn. Body protectors are optional for ridden events, except cross country riding when they must be worn to the current safety standard along with a riding hat without a fixed peak.

11. Please be kind and courteous to everyone, behaviour deemed to be unacceptable is to be reported to a representative of RoR and you may be omitted from attending the event if your behaviour contravenes our rules of conduct.

Refund policy

Refunds will be given upon production and successful approval of a valid veterinary or doctors certificate relating directly to the horse or rider entered in this event.
