Come along to try out for the Suffolk 2025 Inter County Challenge Team.
What’s involved?
Riders who attend a viewing day will have a 30-minute coaching session with one of our county coaches – Ruth Hurst or Tammy Ruffles. This is a chance to get to know you and assess you for teams. It is an informal event, and we hope that every rider will get some top tips during the session.
You are welcome to get on and start to work your horse in before your session if you wish but please be aware of other riders, horses and humans!
Dress is usual schooling dress with an approved hat and suitable footwear. Your horse can wear boots or bandages if you wish.
We are looking for riders at Intro, Prelim, Novice, and Elementary level. You MUST be a bronze rider at that level to participate.
This is open to BD Members and Non-Members – if you make the final team selection then you will need to join BD and register your horse.
Following the event all riders are emailed, and you will be informed if you have been selected to attend the second stage of team trials – the test riding day at Topthorn Arena on the 1st June. Please keep this date free in your diary as you will need to attend if you wish to be considered for selection. At this event you will ride a test at the level that you wish to compete at, you will be warmed up by one of our coaches, judged by a BD judge and feedback will be given by one of our coaches. Final team selection is based on your score and general team suitability.
There is a loo on site if required.
