This event is a collaboration between RDA and British Showjumpng. It will cover ways that coaches can support para riders to get started in show jumping.
We will cover:
What is grading and how does it work?
What are the requirements at different levels of para showjumping?
Which specialist equipment is allowed in competition?
How can you adapt sessions to accommodate any additional requirements?
This event is open to British Showjumping and RDA coaches, numbers are limited per organisation.
There will be a mixture of classroom and practical observation sessions as well as opportunities to network and share best practice.
The day will be delivered by:
Sarah Tubbs – UKCC Level 4 Coach and Coach Developer. Sarah is the lead coach to the British Showjumping Para Riders and has worked with a wide range of riders with differing needs.
Jenny Byng - (HCPC, MCSP, MMACP) is Chair of the National Classification Panel, a National Classifier and FEI Level 2 International Classifier. Jenny has come from a musculoskeletal background but currently has a special interest in Hippotherapy. A horse rider all her life, she has been involved in para equestrian for over 10 years as an RDA volunteer and coach.
Hayley Brackley - neurodiversity consultant, former horse rider, and current "horse mum," spending plenty of time at the stables. As someone who is neurodivergent herself, Hayley understands the importance of raising awareness around neurodivergent conditions and differences.
