The test day will be conducted in a maximum of five in a group, the format will be 30 mins theory test dismounted, 20 mins riding without spurs followed by 20 mins riding with spurs on the flat and over a couple of fences. Note, members who are dressage or polo only, will not be assessed over jumps only on the flat.

1 Dec at RDA Sandyflats: L&U, L&R, Strathblane
22 Dec at Barstobrick: Dumfriesshire, Nithsdale, Galloway, Stewartry
3 January at Totleywells: L&S and Dalkeith
3 January at Sandyflats: Eglinton
We are all mindful of the public perception of riding and the use of whips and spurs. The Pony Club absolutely does not condone the ill treatment of any animal.
Over the past few months Pony Club have rewritten our tests to reflect our greater understanding of how horses learn and how we can enhance the horse/human relationship. The use of additional aids including whips and spurs can be effective when they are used sensitively and appropriately. From January 1st 2025, any member wishing to ride with spurs MUST have achieved their C+ Riding Test or this Spurs Test. Please find these Syllabuses linked below.
