Our Rider Confidence & Peak Performance Camps are geared towards riders who want to:

  • Increase their confidence
  • Improve their mindset so they can ride more positively
  • Access their skills so they can ride to their ability
  • Enjoy riding more
  • Achieve more by addressing negative or self-limiting beliefs and behaviours
  • Improve their performances

We have levels to suit all riders from non-jumping or X-pole classes to those out eventing or bringing on a young or green horse. All abilities and goals will be supported: whether you want to improve your performance when competing, overcome post-accident fears, return to jumping after a long gap, introduce yourself or your horse to XC obstacles like water, ditches etc., start to jump, ride confidently in open spaces or just enjoy your riding more.

Who Can Come?

Camps are suitable for ages 12+ and all levels of rider, providing you can control your horse in walk in open spaces.

12-17 year olds must be accompanied by a supervising adult who either pays the non rider fee, or who also books onto camp as a rider.

What does an Aspire Equestrian Camp Involve?

  2. Showjumping
  3. Poles OR grids

Your camp experience also includes these benefits:

  • Welcome drinks
  • Full catering with plentiful, quality meals
  • Plenty of cake and snacks
  • On-site camping
  • Lorry parking

T&Cs Explained

The thing I like least about my job is having to enforce our T&Cs. In particular, around deposits and transfers. It feels horrible to not return someone’s deposit when they can’t come, or to not let them transfer to another date.

But here is why…

Deposits

I often hear ‘your camps fill up so you can replace me’.

It is true that they usually fill. BUT it is equally true that when the balance is due, a lot of people drop out. This is not their fault – it is usually related to lame horses. But we can have up to 10 people pull out 6 weeks before camp when it is very late to fill places.

So far, we have filled most camps AND ALSO have never run a full camp!

The deposits we retain offset the losses of those empty stables when people don’t pay the balance. The £100 does not come close to covering the actual costs of those empty stables, so we retain all deposits to offset the losses of empty stables.

It took till camp 3 before we made a profit. Before then we were either running at a loss or breaking even. At the end of the day, we have to run the camps in a sustainable way, and retaining deposits is part of that.

Transfers

From our point of view a transfer is no different to giving someone a full refund and them then re-booking onto another camp. So essentially a ‘transfer’ is a way of getting a deposit back. If the transferred rider ends up leaving us with an empty stable, we still have to absorb the costs of that stable. Transfers have sometimes been asked for (and given) very, very late, and those places are rarely re-filled.

We have also had people transfer 3 or 4 times – leaving us with an empty stable every time. So we no longer offer transfers more than 8 weeks from the camp date. And you can only transfer once.

Sell Your Own Place

We do allow people to sell their own places, and unlike many camps you can sell to any level of rider as we are very flexible with our timetabling. So we do try to make sure we aren’t taking money for nothing from people. Just asking that you take on the responsibility for selling a place rather than us accepting that financial risk. However, we have had people selling places literally the day before! We can’t cope with changing the timetable that late. The lessons lists will have gone to the instructors and the Great Time-Table Jigsaw can’t be broken up, to put back together in a way that accommodates a new rider so late. Therefore no places can be sold  within 2 weeks of camp, when camp closes to new bookings.

Simple Guide to Our Refund and Transfer Policy

Deposits are non-refundable.

You are welcome to transfer your deposit to a future camp up to 8 weeks before camp. You may only transfer your place once.

You may sell your own place up until 2 weeks before (see below) to anyone aged 12+

If you sell to a child  aged 12-18, they will also need to be accompanied by a supervising adult who will need to pay us a non-rider fee.

The balancing payment is requested 8 weeks before camp. This becomes due 6 weeks before. If people pay at 8 weeks (or earlier) but drop out before final balance is due, we will refund the balance.

We will refund ‘extras’ if you can’t attend camp.

If payment is not paid within 6 weeks of camp, people may lose their place at camp.

After the balance has become due, we longer allow transfers to a future camp.

After the balance has become due, no further refunds will be offered.

You may sell your own place up to 2 weeks before camp, when camp officially closes. After this we do the time-table and give instructors their hours and changes are no longer possible.

Please refer to full T&C’s for detail in legalese!
