An opportunity to do some personal cross country training around our ELPC cross country courses at Tyninghame.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE EVENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF ALL INVOLVED.
Our Courses
We have 2 courses at Tyninghame.
Our MAIN cross country course it suitable for those riders who are confident cantering in open spaces and jumping a minimum of 50cm.
Our new MINI cross country course is suitable for those TRUE NOVICE riders i.e. lead rein, assisted, inexperienced, nervous or younger riders. This course is not available for adults. Jumps are approximately 30-40cm and within a roped 'arena'.
For the MAIN cross country course:
Riders will be allocated a 1 hour slot to access our Cross Country course at Tyninghame for personal cross country training.
Groups will be set off at 15min intervals so there will be other groups on the course at the same time.
Groups are limited to a maximum of 4 riders.
Jumps approx 50cm up to 80cm.
This course is available for ELPC members, Other PC riders and Adults.
For the MINI cross country course:
This course is only for those who are TRUE NOVICE riders i.e. lead rein riders, younger or inexperienced pony club riders.
Groups will have sole use of the course for 45mins.
Groups are limited to a maximum of 3 riders.
Jumps approx 30-40cm.
This course is available for ELPC members and Other PC riders. This is not available for adults.
What's my time?
Riders will be asked to specfiy morning or afternoon preference. This cannot be guaranteed but we will do our best to accomodate.
Morning slots are between 10am and 12noon approx. Afternoon slots are between 12noon and 4pm approx.
Start times will be allocated.
Riding with Pals?
Riders may ride in mixed groups of ELPC/Non-ELPC riders. Groups will be limited to a maximum of 4 riders for the MAIN cross country course and a maximum of 3 riders for the MINI course.
Do I need an instructor?
YES!! ALL riders under the age of 18yrs MUST provide an instructor who will accompany them on the course on foot.
Adults are recommended to provide an instructor.
Adults may attend without an instructor but MUST have a responsible adult accompany them on foot who must have access to a mobile phone in order to summon assistance in the event of an emergency. A central emergency contact number will be provided.
If a group is formed of adults AND under 18s then the group MUST have an instructor who will accompany them on the course on foot.
The name of the instructor must be included on entry.
The course will be supervised and will be covered by qualified 1st Aid.
Waiting list
A waiting list will apply and riders may be allocated slots only if the group they are joining is suitable.

By request of the land owners, strictly NO DOGS ALLOWED
By entering this event, all riders are agreeing to adhere to the following terms and conditions.
1. All riders must sign a disclaimer form before starting on the course. Under 18's will need an allocated responsible adult to sign who should remain on site while they ride.

By entering this event, all riders are agreeing to adhere to the following terms and conditions.
1. All riders must sign a disclaimer form before starting on the course. Under 18's will need an allocated responsible adult to sign who should remain on site while they ride.
2. All riders must have Public Liability Insurance of at least £10million, a clause in our lease. A copy of this must be attached on entry. Examples include (but not limited to) BHS Gold, Pony Club, British Eventing. BRC membership does not provide the correct cover required.
3. The safety of all riders and horses is paramount. ELPC reserve the right to request a rider leaves the course if it is deemed they are riding unsafely. The decision of the organisers is final.
4. Riding hats conforming to latest PC standard (no fixed peaks) must be worn and have a PC/BE current tag. Helmets must be presented for checking.
5. Back protectors to the latest PC standard (BETA 2018 Level 3) must be worn. Back protectors must be presented for checking.
6. All riders must wear the correct footwear and appropriate clothing for riding and all whips must be padded baton whips.
7. Any rider who may require medication on day must make the organisers aware.
8. All riders must follow the directed route and give way to faster riders where approrpriate. If passing another group of slower riders, please ask permission first and do so safely.
9. All horses/ponies must be at least 4yrs old or over.
10. All tack worn must be in a safe, serviceable condition.
11. All horses and ponies must be in good condition and be fit enough to carry out the work required.
No refunds after the closing date.
In the event that the event is cancelled, refunds will be issued less the Horse Monkey admin fee.
