First Aid is provided by the show organiser, so there won't be a separate charge for this service.
Masters Challenge - rules as follows:
Two sections of one round are run without interruption with the finishing line for the first section being identical with the starting line for the second section.
The first section is a course of approximately 8 obstacles with or without combinations, and will be a timed round under Table C.
The second section takes place over four obstacles which will be gates in a row to be run under Table A
Fastest time over the first section, and lowest penalties over the second section will decide the placings.
- Table C. 4 seconds added for a knock-down. Approx. height of fences as stated in the class description
- Table A. Approx. 10cm higher than first round
Optimum Time classes will have maximum height of that stated on the schedule and the optimum time will be calculated based on 325mpm.
A maximum of TWO classes can be entered on any one day per horse (dog and donkey and bike and ride can be done in addition). A HC round can be entered additionally at the judges discretion. Once a class has commenced jumping, no further entries will be accepted for that class.
Spectators, competitors and owners entering their horses/ponies do so at their own risk and it is a condition of entry that no liability of any kind attaches to Guernsey Riding and Hunt Club Annual Show, in any respect whatsoever, other than the refund of entry fees in the event of abandonment of the competition.

Spectators, competitors and owners entering their horses/ponies do so at their own risk and it is a condition of entry that no liability of any kind attaches to Guernsey Riding and Hunt Club Annual Show, in any respect whatsoever, other than the refund of entry fees in the event of abandonment of the competition.
ALL HORSES/PONIES MUST BE COVERED BY THIRD PARTY INSURANCE.
ENTRIES CLOSE AT 8.00 pm on Wednesday 10th July 2024. Entries are via Horse Monkey. Open to non-members at the entry fee stated +£5 per class, all non-members will also need to help during the show please, either in the arena, course building prior or course clearing after.
Late entries will be accepted at no extra charge providing the combination has already competed/entered at the show.
A surcharge of £5.00 per class will be levied on all late entries other than competitors already entered in the show. All late entries must be lodged with the Show Secretary not less than one class before the class being entered with no exceptions.
Substitution of horse or rider in a class already entered should be made in writing to the Show Secretary not less than one class prior to the class in question.
All entries are accepted at the discretion of the Committee. The Committee reserves the right to ask competitors to change classes if they feel that an inappropriate entry has been made.
All competitors will be judged in accordance with the rules of the BS as published in the 2024 Rule Book.
Classes may be divided, amalgamated or cancelled depending on the number of entries received.
The judges may set a standard in any competition and competitors must retire when they reach this standard.
The Committee reserve the right to disqualify from all further classes at the Show any competitor whose behaviour in the opinion of the Committee is in contravention of Section 1: Code of Conduct in the BRC Handbook. The Committee also reserve the right to take further disciplinary action as they see fit.
The Committee reserve the right to request a valid JMB Height Certificate.
In the event of insufficient starters lower prizes may be withheld in accordance with Rule 76.6.1 of the BS 2024 Rule Book. Prizes will be awarded in accordance with Rule 76.5.
No new memberships will be accepted on any show day with the exception of temporary GSY RHC membership.
No horses/ponies are to be left unattended.
Please ensure all droppings are removed from the horsebox areas and the warming up arena.
Refund of entry fees will only be considered on the production of a veterinary certificate.
