Rural riders challenge show jumping
Individual
Registration of rider at the level they wish to compete at the beginning of the series
Riders may compete at multiple levels as long as all levels are declared at time of registration
A rider may compete multiple horses at same level, as long as all horses are declared at time of registration
All competitions results count towards points total
Points awarded from 1st to 10th at every level
Cross poles, 40cm and 50cm ONLY
Assistance is allowed, if being lead, the lead rope must be attached to the noseband and NOT the bit, a parent or appointed person will be allowed to stand inside the arena for confidence of rider.
A rider will be allowed 3 refusals, after the 3rd refusal the rider will be eliminated and bell will be rung to indicate this and rider has to leave arena.
Fall of rider is elimination and rider must leave the arena dismounted
60cm and above classes 2 refusals on first round results in elimination and bell will be rung to indicate this and rider must leave the arena,
2 refusals in the timed section will result in elimination
Excessive use of the whip will not be tolerated and at the judges discretion will result in the rider being eliminated from the competition
Whips to be of british showjumping standard
NO SCHOOLING WHIPS ALLOWED AT ANY LEVEL
Points awarded as follows in individual competitions
20 points 1st
18 points 2nd
16 points 3rd
14 points 4th
12 points 5th
10 points 6th
8 points 7th
6 points 8th
4 point 9th
2 points 10th
Only riders registered for Rural Riders challenge gain points, highest placed RR will gain 20points even if not placed 1st and then other points awarded accordingly down the results table, even if riders are not placed in open competition.
If at the final of the championships 2 riders are tied on points the championship will be award to fastest time in jump off of that class on championship day.
Team Show Jumping
Maximum of 4 riders can be registered in any one team
4 members to compete in any one competition and a minimum of 3
Best 3 scores to count towards placing and points in all team competitions
One rider may ride 2 different horses in a team as long as both horses are declared at time of registration
A rider may ride in 2 different teams as long as they are jumping different heights
If registering as a team each rider will automatically be eligible for the individual championship at the team level
Substitutions at the judges discretion with a minimum 24hrs notice of date of competition.
Points awarded as follows in team competitions as a team not individual placings
20 points 1st
18 points 2nd
16 points 3rd
14 points 4th
12 points 5th
10 points 6th
8 points 7th
6 points 8th
4 point 9th
2 points 10th
If 2 teams are tied after the final competition on championship day, the team with the fastest clear round jump off at the championship show will be awarded champions
