CONDITIONS OF ENTRY/GENERAL RULES
ENTRIES

Entries will NOT BE ACCEPTED unless accompanied by the correct fees (and must include first aid tariff of £4 per competitor).
If paying via cheque, these must be made payable to The Cheshire Horse Show Ltd.
b) On the Day Entries (where eligible – see schedule of classes for details) may be taken with a surcharge of £5.
c) Amendments to Entries - Under no circumstances will entries be changed, substituted or amended once received. Any entries received after the closing date will be subject to the additional fee. Postal Entries/On The Day Entries will only be accepted on the official entry form. In the event of a horse or pony being unable to compete through illness, accident or the like, the Society will refund the whole of the entry fee on production of a Veterinary Certificate.
d) FIRST AID: A levy of £4.00 will be charged per competitor towards the cost of First Aid provision.
e) PRIZE MONEY: No prize money will be given out without production of the Exhibitors number, rosette and class number. Prize money will only be awarded once results have been received by the Treasurer. In the Light horse classes (excluding RIHS/LIHS qualifying classes) where there are less than 6 entries, prize money will be awarded to 1st place only. ALL PRIZE MONEY MUST BE COLLECTED ON THE DAY OF THE SHOW OTHERWISE IT WILL BE FORFEITED.
f) Refunds: Showing Exhibits Only - NO REFUND OF ENTRIES WILL BE GIVEN, except in the event of unforeseen cancellation of the show, when a £5.00 levy will be deducted from each entry to cover Administration costs.

PARKING/ENTRY TO SHOWGROUND
STRICTLY NO EXHIBITOR ENTRY PERMITTED VIA PEACOCK LODGE.
a) Admission to Showground - Horse boxes will be checked on entry to the showground and any additional passengers, with the exception of Owner/Rider/Groom will be charged a discounted rate of £5.00 per person. Please have the correct money available to help keep the traffic flow moving.
b) Parking - Exhibitor’s boxes and Exhibits must stand in the space allocated for their purposes. The Society will strictly enforce this condition. SHIRE/HEAVY HORSE EXHIBITORS ONLY - Please note that there is a dedicated parking area (adjacent to the Shire ring). Please follow the appropriate signs and do not park in the light horse area

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
a) Hats: A ‘Riding Hat’, designed to provide protection, must be worn, at all times when mounted by anyone, whether or not a Competitor, at a British Showjumping competition. Harnesses must be properly adjusted and fastened at all times when mounted. When jumping, including warming up, all Competitors must wear ‘Protective Headwear’ i.e. a hat which meets one of the following standards: British: PAS 015 (2011) and European VG01.040 2014-12, provided they are BSI Kitemarked or Inspec IC Marked. ALL RIDDEN CLASS COMPETITORS must wear a hard hat to the current BSI and EU standard. Riders in BSPS classes please see rule relating to hat specifications.
b) Body Protectors - It is recommended that competitors involved in jumping wear a body protector of the appropriate BSI and EU standard. Body Protectors are compulsory when competing in the LIHS Working Hunter Pony Classes.
c) Falls: Competitors having a fall on the Showground must be checked by a First Aider before remounting and continuing in other classes. In any case it is recommended that they are checked by a First Aider before leaving the Showground.
GENERAL
a) Owners may enter as many horses as they wish, and all competitions are open unless stated otherwise in the schedule.
b) Exhibits to be on the showground half an hour before judging.
c) Judges Decision: The decision of the judge is final and no competitor or spectator may approach the judge on the Showground over the decision.
d) Rosettes: Rosettes to 4th place will be awarded.
e) Trophies - All trophies must be returned in good condition at least one month prior to the date of the next Show.
f) Welfare: The Committee have the right to disqualify/remove any person found to be ill-treating any horse/pony, riding in a dangerous manner or behaving badly. They will be told to leave the Showground without refunds. It is unacceptable to leave a horse/pony unattended when tied up outside vehicles.
The welfare/fitness of the horses/ponies must be taken into account if you are considering doing numerous classes. If any member of the committee or judge has concerns about the welfare of a horse/pony/rider/handler, they have the right to challenge entry to a class.
g) Liability: Neither the Cheshire Horse Show or any of its officers, assistants or stewards shall in any way be responsible for any loss, injury or damage that may happen to exhibitors or their assistants of other members of the public, or to any animal or property or to any vehicle brought onto the showground or while entering or leaving the same. It is necessary for all exhibitors to carry Public Liability Insurance for an adequate indemnity to protect against their negligence including any injury caused by their animals or property.
h) Objections: Any objection or protest must be made in writing to the Secretary, stating the grounds for such objection, within 30 minutes of the end of the class and must be accompanied by £20 deposit. This will be refundable if the objection is upheld.
i) The Committee reserves the right to divide or combine any class or reduce the number of prizes awarded due to the number of entries.
j) Dogs: All dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times and if possible, restrained from barking at the ring side.
