Notes
This is a Freestyle to Music module for our Judge Education system, this is an optional module to complete for judges who wish to be eligible to judge at affiliated freestyle classes (at their relevant list level). This module is available to all levels and training will be grouped by listing.
This module involves attendance to a 2-hour 30 minutes interactive online workshop which will cover the following areas of freestyle judging:
- The process of judging a freestyle test (including communication with writers)
- The assessment of technical movements in freestyle judging
- The artistic marks in freestyle judging
- Building knowledge of ‘how to find your mark’
- Understanding rewards, deductions and firewalls when judging freestyle tests
If you have previously attended a music seminar or completed the examination paper, this module is not mandatory for you to continue to judge affiliated freestyle classes. You are welcome to complete this however for your own judging development should you wish to.
Judges who have not completed either of the above will be required to complete this module at their relevant level in order to be eligible to judge affiliated freestyle classes. Judges are only required to complete this module once in their judging career. Judges can use attendance to this training to top up their CPD attendance.
