Notes

About Sue Colley.

My equestrian qualifications are: BHSI, British Eventing Accredited Coach and a specialist eventing UKCC level 3 qualification. I am also a qualified school teacher and spent 13 years in mainstream education, teaching all ages groups form 5 year olds to Sixth Form.

My original professional training to become a school teacher has enabled me to bring a wide insight of learning skills to my equestrian coaching.

Horses have always been very significant in my life and in 1988 I started my own equestrian business. I opened and ran Breaston Equestrian Centre as a highly successful Riding School.

In 2011, after running the Riding School for 23 years, I wanted to alter my life balance to give me more time and flexibility, so new homes were found for the school horses and ponies.

The extra flexibility that I now have since the closure of the Riding School has enabled me to offer more time to coaching people who already have their own horses (general coaching) and to also offer my expertise as a specialist eventing coach. (BE Clinics and Coaching)

In my youth, I competed up to Grade B level show jumping and over the years I have evented a large number of horses at various levels up to Advanced, always producing them from the start of their careers and in the process giving me great satisfaction with their successes. I have also competed in dressage up to Prix St. George level.

Over the winter months I can often be seen having fun, hunting with my local packs, The South Notts, The Quorn and The Readyfield Bloodhounds, or brushing up my dressage and show jumping skills at local indoor venues preparing for the event season ahead.
