2. OPEN TO REGISTERED ACADEMY RIDERS ONLY.
Competition Format: The day will consist of 4 Team & Individual classes, and 2 Warm Up classes. The entries for Team & Individual classes will be selected by each separate Academy to represent their Academy prior to the Championship Show. Riders may only compete for one academy, and may only compete one Horse or Pony in each Team/Individual height. Open to regular attending academy members riding horses or ponies – there will be no doubles in classes 1 - 4. The selection process will be administered by each Academy Coordinator who will decide which riders will attend the Championships on behalf of their Academy, this may be a qualifying procedure or selection of riders.
A rider can jump two horses/ponies in two different teams at the same height, two horses/ponies with the same rider cannot jump in the same team. Each horse/pony can only jump once in the team/individual classes.
Each academy can put forward as many teams as they wish plus 2 individuals per academy at each height, all team members also compete as individuals. In the event of smaller academies not being able to field a team of four they can join up with other academies and field mixed teams, rider eligibility remains the same and points will be split.
Teams must consist of 3 or 4 riders with the best three scores to count towards the final result.
All riders, whether team members or individuals, will compete over two rounds, the second round will be raised 5cm (one hole). A third round jump off, raised another 5cm, will be determined by the equality of faults, the following riders will be required to jump off;
- All riders who are in equal first position (usually all those on double clear), lower positions will be determined by time in the second round if required
- Teams in equal first position will nominate one rider to compete the jump off (this could be someone who is also jumping off in the individual section, but they will only jump once), those in equal second or third may also be required to nominate a rider to jump off to produce a result.
Chef d’equipes are requested to ensure that they are aware of the on going results and to have riders ready to jump off as required.
