Horse & Rider Confidence Camp in the heart of the Peak District.

With Aspire Equestrian's Dr Krissie Ivings, and Joe Midgley Horsemanship.

2nd - 4th August 2023

Joe and Krissie already run very succesful and popular camps, individually. However, inspired by great feedback from our first joint clinic, we have decided to arrange a total immersion camp for some intense learning in luxury accommodation. Learn in comfort and in a stunning setting!

  • Arriving from 2pm on Day 1 to allow riding over 3 days
  • Presentations, workshops and demos including demo on handling yearlings
  • Ground and ridden sessions with your horse focusing on foundational work, trust and confidence
  • Private lesson with Joe focusing on any issue of your choice: behavioural, foundational or peak performance. From separation anxiety or loading to canter transitions and pirouettes.
  • Hacking opportunities in hacking heaven!
  • Stabling or paddock turn out
  • Luxury cottage accommodation with a hot tub

TOTAL COST £335.

Dr Krissie Ivings will give talks on rider confidence and Peak Performance while Joe will focus on what horses need from us, and how to help them find safety and confidence in you.

Venue

This Camp is held at Peak Homestead, Alstonefield.

The Homestead is nestled in the heart of the Peak District, offering wonderful self guided hacking. Grab a map and go exploring! Various circular routes straight form the Homestead can be recommended.

Accommodation is in twin rooms. If you want to book on with a friend to share a room with, please book on at the same time so you are both guaranteed a place. Bookings are first come first served. 

Booking as a single rider indicates that you accept you will be paired with another rider, in a twin room.

Meals will all be onsite, and included in the price, with the exception of a pub meal on the 2nd night.

There is a hot tub. Bring swim-wear!

Accomodation for your horse: Individual paddocks are provided. Hay can be purchased on site. If a stable is wanted that can be arranged on request.

Spectators

Spectators interested int he demonstrations and observing the horsemanshop work are welcome, and can book via HorseMonkey for one or both days. All spectators will need to bring a packed lunch and a camping chair, your drinks and snacks will be provided.

The following represents the Terms and Conditions applicable to the booking of and attendance at our Rider Confidence Camps. By booking on one of our Camps it is implicit that you have read and agree with these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them.

ASPIRE EQUESTRIAN CAMPS – TERMS & CONDITIONS

The following represents the Terms and Conditions applicable to the booking of and attendance at our Rider Confidence Camps. By booking on one of our Camps it is implicit that you have read and agree with these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them.

Rider Confidence Camp 

Definitions

Rider Confidence Camp: Also referred to as camp. The multi-discipline training camp provided by Aspire Equestrian.

Event: Shall mean the Camp organised by Aspire Equestrian (Aspire Therapy Services Ltd) 

Booking Fee: Shall mean the fee payable to Aspire Therapy Services Ltd in respect of each person attending the organised event

Event Premises: Shall mean Peak Homestead, Alstonefield

Organiser: Shall mean Dr. Krissie Ivings of Aspire Therapy Services and her team.

Instructor: Joe Midgley of Joe Midgley Horsemanship

Participant: Shall mean the member of the general public attending the event with their own horse

Guardian: Is a supervising adult for any participant under the age of 18.

Spectators: Shall mean non riding member of the public attending to watch.

Booking & Paying for your Attendance at Camp

The participant has agreed to pay the event fee to the Organiser consisting of a deposit of £100 and a balance £215.

  1. Places are secured by receipt of the £100 deposit on a first come first served basis. Indicating an intent to book on the event or returning a booking form in the absence of a deposit does not secure the place.
  2. The balance of £215 due must be paid in full 4 weeks prior to the event date.  If balances are not received by the due date your deposit may be forfeited and your place lost.
  3. Bookings made less than 4 weeks before camp should be paid in full at the time of booking.

Cancellation & Transfers

If the participant wishes to cancel a booking then the booking fee will be subject to the cancellation policy below:

  1. All deposits are non refundable.
  2. For cancellations within 4 weeks of the event, the balance will be refunded if the place is re-allocated by another participant. 
  3. Participants may sell their places to a substitute adult rider at no cost. Or to a substitute under 18 year old rider with a supervising guardian
  4. Cancellation requests must be emailed to krissie@ivings.co.uk  
  5.  No reductions or refunds are offered for arriving late or leaving early or for inability to participate in sessions for any reason such as a lame horse, lost shoe etc
  6. Transferring your place to a future camp is at the sole discretion of the organisers.
  7. Transfer requests must be emailed to krissie@ivings.co.uk Late transfer requests are unlikely to be agreed unless we have a waiting list and can re-fill the place.

The Organiser reserves the right to cancel the Event at any time in which case refunds will be given.  Should the Organiser be forced to cancel a Camp, the maximum liability to the Organiser shall be the full Camp fee less any unavoidable expenses. The Organiser will not accept any contingent liability or any cost faced by the Participant howsoever incurred.

Participant Code of Conduct

The behaviour of Participants must be of a reasonable nature, at all times be respectful of their Instructors, fellow Participants, the Organisers and other users of the site.

Participants should be respectful of the property of the Organiser and fellow participants. Abusive violent or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated, should a Participant be guilty of such behaviour they may be asked to amend their behaviour or in extreme cases may be asked to leave the Camp. The Organiser reserves the right at their sole discretion to exclude any Participant at any time should their behaviour prove unsatisfactory. Should a Participant be asked to leave a Camp no refund will be applicable.

Delegates are asked to attend their instruction sessions in a timely manner. Lateness delays the start of a session for the whole group and this is disrespectful to both the Instructor and the rest of the group.

The Participant must comply with all reasonable instructions given by the Organiser and riding instructors. 

Health & Safety

  1. Each horse is the responsibility of its owner, and all activities are at your own risk. 
  2. The Participant shall at all times during the Event comply with all fire, health & safety rules and Regulations and any emergency procedures outlined by the Organiser.
  3. Each horse must have a valid and up to date vaccination certificate (within 12 months), completed, signed and stamped on each line by a veterinary surgeon. The vaccination certificate must accompany the horse to Camp and the rider is responsible for producing it on demand. Failure to provide acceptable proof of vaccination will result in exclusion from the camp and no refund will be made. 
  4. Suitable protective clothing to be worn at all times when mounted and around horses: i.e. hardhats to current approved safety standard with chinstrap fastened, boots with a small heel and grip, long sleeves and we strongly advise body protectors are used whilst riding. No riding at any time without hard hats. Body protectors must be worn on the Cross Country courses.
  5. Participants must notify the Organisers of any issue relating to their horse that may be relevant to Health & Safety within the Event. (i.e.: biting/kicking/etc.). Aspire Therapy Services Ltd may not be held responsible for participants injuring themselves with other horses. Stallions cannot be catered for.
  6. Participants are advised to not enter stables, or ride horses that are not their own property.
  7. Participants are responsible at all times during the Event for ensuring their horse is under control and does not represent a danger to anyone else or any other horse at the Event. Known kickers are mandated to wear red tail. Horses displaying aggressive stable habits must also make themselves known to the Organiser before the event so a poster can be displayed outside their stable
  8. The Organiser reserves the right to exclude any Participant or animal they consider to be a danger to Participants or other people.
  9. Participants MUST declare any medical conditions that could materially affect their health and safety at camp.
  10. All accidents, injuries, incidents or illness must be reported as soon as possible to the Organiser.
  11. No smoking at any time in or around the stables, smoking is only allowed in designated areas.
  12. You are asked to inspect the Stables and all riding areas before use and inform us if you are not satisfied with the condition of the facilities. 
  13. If you are under 18 years of age, a guardian must accompany you.  At all times, children must be supervised by the accompanying guardian.
  14. Participants must strictly comply with the speed limit of 5mph for all vehicles within the Event premises.
  15. Participants must not partake in any entertainment or other activity for which a special license is required 
  16. Participants must not do anything that may involve a risk of injury or annoyance to anyone or anything present in the Event Premises.
  17. The participant must not possess or consume illegal and performance enhancing drugs for either human or equine consumption.
  18. Riders & Horses must keep to designated horse areas.
  19. Private stables or stable blocks should not be entered.
  20. Stable areas should be swept and social areas kept clean and tidy.

If a Participant is in breach of these terms and conditions the organiser shall be entitled to expel the Participant, without incurring any liability or refund.

Insurance

Aspire Therapy Services Ltd is not responsible for any accidents or injury to riders, spectators, animals or damage to vehicles or properties of any description, or any loss sustained by any person whilst at the camp venue.

  1. Participants must ensure that they have suitable insurance/third party liability insurance. The waiver MUST be signed and returned to prove that you take responsibility for your conduct and insurance. We recommend attendees ensure they have adequate insurance against loss or illness as they would for any other holiday or pastime.
  2. All activities are optional and are at your own risk. By its very nature horse riding is a high-risk sport and therefore carries associated risks.
  3. The participant must take responsibility for all equipment in their charge, including personal possessions.  No secure rooms are available at camps. Please ensure you have adequate insurance against loss, damage or theft of any item you own whilst you are with us.

Lessons

Instructors, specialists, presenters and riding schedules are subject to change at any time and without notice. In this event attendees will be notified as soon as possible and no refund will be made as a result of these changes.

We are dependent on you to provide accurate, honest information. An overly ambitious or pessimistic interpretation of your ability may result in you being placed in an unsuitable group. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the correct group selection is made, the Organiser will not be held responsible for any group selection made in good faith with the information provided by participants.

Please respect the facilities we attend and leave no litter around

External organisations are sometimes invited to participate into Camp, some of the above may have products or services to sell. The organiser takes no responsibility for contracts or engagements you enter into with these persons or organisations. 

In the event of inclement weather some venues may switch or cancel lessons. Cancellation at events of the use of that area (or others) is a decision made either by the venue themselves or the organiser. This decision to cancel is based on health and safety and is only made under exceptional conditions.

Catering

During your attendance at camp the Organiser will provide the following meals: Day One – dinner. Day Two - breakfast, lunch, Day Three - breakfast and lunch. Any special dietary requirements should be made known to the Organiser at the earliest possible opportunity at the very latest when the balance of the Camp fee is paid. The Organiser will make every effort to accommodate any special requirement.  

Sorry, no dogs may attend the camp.

Liability

  1. Participants bring property to the Event entirely at their own risk. Neither the Organiser nor the event will accept any liability for any loss, howsoever caused, to property belonging to Participants or others.
  2. No liability will be accepted by the Organiser for any loss or injury sustained as a result of a breach of these Terms & Conditions including, but not limited to, any request by the Organiser for the Participant to leave the Event due to a breach of these Terms & Conditions or for any conduct or medical history liable to increase the risk of injury to the Participant themselves or others or damage to property.
  3. The Participant is liable for any damage caused by them or their guest to property belonging to the Organiser, the owners of the event premises or any other Participants. We recommend both you and your horse are insured.

Insurance Waiver:

By proceeding with the booking onto this camp organized by Aspire Therapy Services Ltd I do hereby state that I wish to participate in the training activities at the above Event on either or any of the above dates and that I have read and understood the events conditions as laid out in the attached Terms and Conditions 

In order for me to attend the training I confirm that I have adequate insurance that covers me for both personal and public liability and that insurance is my responsibility. 

I understand that all activities are VOLUNTARY and that I do not have to participate. It is understood that these activities are potentially dangerous or harmful to me or property, and that by participating, I voluntarily accept and assume the risk of personal injury or damage to property. 

I am intending to use my own judgement and knowledge as to what activities I attempt to take part in. At all times I will take into account the experience, capabilities and skill level of myself and my horses, regardless of others motivating me.

In the event of any accidents or injury to myself, other persons, animals or property I will not hold the Venue staff, the instructors or the organiser responsible. I agree to pay necessary costs to cover any damage caused to property by myself or my horse. 

I understand that the event organiser, trainers and Venue DO NOT provide any insurance coverage for persons or property; and I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own safety and health care needs, and for the protection of property. 

In exchange for allowing me to participate in these activities, I the undersigned, agree to release from liability, agree to indemnify, and hold harmless the event organiser, trainers, Venue staff and anyone acting within the scope of their duties, for any injury to me or damage to my property. 

I understand that this document is complete unto itself and that any oral promises or representations made to me concerning this document and/or its terms are not binding upon the organisers. 

Only sign below if you accept all the contents: I have read and agree to the above conditions. 

I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A LEGAL DOCUMENT. I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS RELEASE AND I UNDERSTAND ALL ITS TERMS. I EXECUTE IT VOLUNTARILY AND WITH FULL KNOWLEDGE OF ITS MEANING AND SIGNIFICANCE.
