TGCA Quest for a Star Championship -  Inc Youngstock 

Quest for a Star - Traditional Gypsy Cobs  1st, 2nd and 3rd from the TGCA classes above may go forward to the Quest for a Star Championship as per below rule.  ONLY current TGCA members and horse/pony that is already TGCA registered can exhibit in this championship, if exhibit already has their Quest for a Star Qualification in particular section, they should be ask stand aside to allow members that have not yet qualified. Membership card and Member’s qualification card (specific to that exhibit) must be presented upon entry into the ring. The Champion and Reserve qualify for the Ultimate Star Championships at TOYS.

 

Go for Glory Championship 

1st, 2nd and 3rd from the TGCA part bred classes may go forward to the Go for Glory Championship. For 2020 TOYS qualifiers, the handler/rider and exhibits (apart from stallions) do not have to be TGCA members/registered on the date of the show. The Champion and Reserve qualify for the Crowning Glory Championships at TOYS.

  4. The organisers reserve the right to cancel or amalgamate any classes.

General Rules

  2. It is the exhibitors responsibility to check if the show is still taking place due to bad weather.
  3. The organisers reserves the right to refuse any entry.
  4. The organisers reserve the right to cancel or amalgamate any classes.
  5. The organisers accept no responsibility for loss or damage, injury or accident to spectators, exhibitors’ or riders or their property as a result of attending this show. Please take appropriate care to prevent such accident or loss to yourselves and others.
  6. The decision of the judge is final.
  7. Hard hats with chin straps must be worn at all times when mounted or handling horses. Hats which have EN138/BSEN1384 or VG1 01.040 (2014-12) along with another accepted standard, will be permitted. For example, BSEN1384 & PAS015 (2011) along with the BSI Kitemark or Inspec IC mark will be acceptable, but not BSEN1384 on its own. 
  8. For the safety of yourself, body/face piercings are not permitted when riding and handling the horses including ears, nose, lip, tongue etc
  9. Objections or protest must be made in writing to the secretary accompanied by a fee of £25 which may be forfeited to the show funds in the event of the objection being over-ruled.
  10. No litter is to be left on the show ground. CLEANING OUT OF HORSE BOXES AND TRAILERS IS     STRICTLY FORBIDDEN - Please remove all droppings as this is a playing field.
  11. Under no circumstances is any animal to be exhibited under a judge who is known to have bred,    leased, sold or produced said animal.
  12. All grooms entering the ring must be correctly dressed and must wear a helmet in the ring (standard above).
  13. Lead Rein competitors must be aged 3yo and over and the lead rein must be fixed to the nose band. Snaffles only in lead rein classes.
  14. Spurs not permitted in Equitation classes.
  15. No horse or pony to be left unattended tied outside a horsebox/trailer. 
  16. Whips not to exceed 75cms (30inc).
  17. Due to vehicle (4 ton axle) weight restrictions on the show ground please can we ask all competitors, where possible, to arrive in a 4x4 and trailer or 3.5 ton horse box. Vehicles which appear to be overweight will be weighed and may be turned away - please contact the show organiser to reserve an overweight space.
  18. The organisers retain the right to ask any rider to dismount if they are considered too heavy for the horse or pony being ridden.
  19. May I remind everyone to please travel your horse/pony with their passport, it's the law (spot inspections may occur).
  20. Colts and stallions must correctly bitted and only be handled by anyone 18yo or over. Animals must be identified with a ribbon in the tail and/or a bridle badge. 
  21. Mistreatment of any animal on the show ground will not be tolerated, the competitor/handler may be asked to leave the show ground.
  22. Dogs must be kept on a lead AT ALL TIMES and cleaned up after. Barking dogs may be asked to be taken to a quiet place away from horses/ponies.
  23. No canter/galloping outside of the competition and warm up rings. 
  24. No lunging anywhere on the show ground.

 

Horses and ponies are not to come onto the field if their flu injections are not up to date. Only horses and ponies who receive their yearly booster or horses/ponies who are restarting (must be 7days or more after their 2nd injection) will be permitted onto the show field. We may ask to see their passport to check their vaccination record.
