RoR Midlands are delighted to have secured a ROR Training Event with the coach many of you have asked for, Julie Frizzell. Private or pairs lessons will run for 40 minutes.
Club Night sessions will run for 90 minutes, and you are free to turn up at any point between your booked session times to use the arena and work with Julie. A perfect, no pressure environment to receive some friendly coaching and advice whilst also getting your former racehorse out in a new, safe environment whilst working around other horses.
Session 1 will run from 4pm-5:30pm, and Session 2 will run from 5:30pm-7pm.
Just a few notes here for you to be aware of with regard to the venue and from Julie about the evening;
No lunging on surface – grass lunging may be possible by prior arrangement with Emma
Unmounted members welcome – no fee
Unmounted coaching conversations – free during Club night sessions (Julie is available to advise on training and development whilst the Club sessions are taking place. This could be particularly helpful for someone wanting to see what Club nights and coaching is like before brining their horse the next time.)
We are incredibly lucky and grateful for Julie and Emma's support which allows us to run club nights at a reduced cost to members. Julie is incredibly passionate about the retraining of former racehorses and is vastly experieced. Sessions at this level would easily cost much more than what Julie has agreed to hold them for. That along with RoR member Emma providing her facilities this really is an opportunity not to be missed.
Club nights are an RoR concept that has been really popular in the north. You are welcome to come along and watch if you currentlt aren't riding or not sure what it's all about. It's a chance for members to come together, share their horses and build confidence in a fun and suportive environment.
Julie Frizzell Bio
Having had many championship successes, as both a rider and coach, Julie will work in partnership with each rider to bring the best out of their ROR friend. Structured, kind, focussed training, together with a knack for connecting on a personal level with every rider (and your helper(s) lol) will mean that no matter what your aim, you’ll work together towards your goals. Everyone is welcome, whether your aim is to just get an outing to somewhere new under your belt, or you’re off to the new ROR Winter Championships (a week later on the 8th April) and want tips and coaching to help maximise your performance there.
As a coach, Julie’s clients have won at the ROR National Championships, Regional Championships, BD Associated Championships and Trailblazer Finals. Many of you may know Namibian, who came to Julie through the Godolphin Lifetime Care programme; although he (too, just like all our wonderful RORs) can be quirky at times, they’ve secured no less than 6 national para dressage titles, 2 ROR National titles, 2 BD Associated Championship titles and have been Regional Champions too. ‘Barney’ was also the recipient of the ROR/BD Medium Horse of the Year 2022 and has represented Great Britain at CPEDI 1/2* level on 3 occasions.
