A traditional Gymkhana with additional classes, held on sport pitches so surfaces are very good. Hard standing parking at Selkirk Rugby Club with toilets and refreshments available on site.

1. Riders age to be taken from 1st of January 2023. Each competitor must take place in one age group only.
2. When mounted correctly fitting current standard hard hats must be worn. Body protectors are advised.
3. The Selkirk Common Riding Gymkhana Committee do not accept liability for accident, damage or injury to horse, owner, rider, spectators or any other person or property whatsoever. Riders are advised to have their own insurance.
4. Where possible wear numbers, bridle, bib, numnah or around waist are acceptable.
5. Equitation Class (14 years and under) to be judged on the partnership and turnout of the horse/pony and rider. To do a short show with no jumping , one equine per rider.
6. Working Hunter if a rider has more than one mount qualified for show stage they must choose one to go forward.
7. Classes 5, 6 and 7 may be split depending on entry numbers.
8. There will be first aid in attendance and the BGH will be aware of the event
9. Entries close 5pm on Monday 12th June 2023.
10. All entries to be made via Horse Monkey.
11. No refunds for withdrawals after closing date.
12. Please check with stewards and/or secretary as times may run late or early according to entries.
13. In the event of cancellation 50% of entry fee will be refunded.
14. Judges and stewards instructions must be adhered to at all times.
15. Lorry and trailer parking is at a premium so please cooperate with the parking steward and enter Selkirk Rugby Club at the Ettrickhaugh Road entrance. Please remove all droppings and no haynets tied to outside of trailers/lorries.
16. Equines not to be left unattended tied to vehicles.
17. Eight and under lead and non lead may run combined but there will be two sets of rosettes.
18. Dressage classes judged under British Dressage rules snaffle bridle no martingales. Times will be published on Horse Monkey by 5pm on Thursday 15th of June 2023.
19. Former racehorse Classes
INHAND - 3 years and over any height racing blemishes will be ignored. Handler to be 15 years of age and above.
RIDDEN - 4 years old and over any height racing blemishes will be ignored, horses should be plaited and ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Rider to be 15 years of age and above.
