RoR Midlands are pleased to be collaborating with RoR Northern to bring you our Spring Camp at Somerford Park. It doesn't matter which region you are based in, you will be very welcome to join us - the more the merrier.
Arriving after 6pm on Friday 14th April you will settle into the stables and get familiar with the facilities before meeting fellow campers and having your evening meal.
On both Saturday and Sunday you will get two lessons with one of our three coaches on site over the weekend with ful access to the farm ride. Meals will be provided for you throughout and Saturday evening will give you chance to catch up with fellow campers and go over the days highlights.
If you aren't familair with the facilities at Somerford they really are exceptional. We will have sole access to stable blocks B which provides 26 Monarch Stables with tack rooms, wash bays and large concrete reception area. We also have the Pavilion, with kitchen, showers, toilets, laundry room and function room,.
We have the sole use of three dedicated Andrews Bowen surfaces located next to the stables, with a full set of show jumps and a dressage arena. We also have unlimited use of the 80 acre Cross Country and Grassroots XC schooling fields. There are ample electrical hookups and picturesque parking areas for overnight accommodation.
So onto our instructors, who are no strangers to Somerford, and no strangers to working with our former racehorses. We are pleased to announce that spring camp is supported by coaches David Llewelly BHSI, Hannah Jackson BHSII and Lousie Robson (Thoroughbred Dressage).
Before camp we will work with you to allocate groups for lessons that meet your needs, so don't worry if this is your first camp or your fifth, the weekend will be geared to suit you no matter what level you are currently working at. Our coaches are sympathetic to riders needs and all we want to do is help you reach your goals for the weekend and send you home smiling.
David's Bio
My first taste of the TB was when I was 14, I started exercising for a point to point trainer in the village where I grew up.
I left school at 16 and went to hartpury college where I was introduced to eventing and then after two years at Hartpury I went to work in the USA for 5 years. While in the USA I got to work with lots of different horses including my first attempt at retraining an ex racehorse that had been raced over timber fences.
I returned back to the uk in 2003 keen to have a go at Eventing myself.
Since returning I have bought and sold a couple of horses and managed to produce a few of them up to 3*.
Now based in Cheshire, where I’ve been for 15 years I have completed my BHS I and still compete and produce horses as well as teaching and coaching a wide range of people and horses. I love working with the TB breed, I love the brains and the pure athleticism of them.

After 18 months Louise returned home to work freelance. She was was Monica's travelling groom for four years, attending the biggest shows in the world. After Monica's retirement in 2012, Louise returned full-time to the UK and set up Thoroughbred Dressage.
Thoroughbred Dressage is is growing and developing, as we strive to produce the best horses we can and help educate those with ex- racehorses, and dressage horses. Thoroughbred Dressage has the support of a dedicated professional team who help keep the horses in the best shape possible.
