Arkenfield – Where everyone is welcome
Arkenfield Equestrian and Stables are located on the A6097 in Gunthorpe, just a few minutes from the A46 and the A614.
The first thing you will notice on arrival is the warm welcome from Laura Worthington and her husband Matt, who work so hard to create a warm, friendly, and relaxed environment that you and your horse will settle into straight away.
Laura and her team have many clients with former racehorses and understand their needs, they offer a supportive and patient training environment to bring out the very best I each partnership.
Facilities are excellent, alongside a covered area there is a large outdoor as well as ample fields with a choice of cross country fences built to encourage those starting out on their XC journey as well as those wanting a slightly bigger challenge.
Arkenfield is also very well connected with the world of Horseball, take a look on their Facebook page to find out more. Arkenfield is the home of Nottingham Horseball and Matt and his team have many former racehorses competing successfully nationally and internationally.
So more about camp…….
You can arrive at anytime from 2.30pm of Thursday 27th and get you and your horse settled in. You can arrange to sleep in your tailer horsebox (there is ample parking) or chose to pitch a tent if that’s your thing on the lovely, grassed area close to the arena. Showers and toilet facilities won’t be far away whatever your choice. You can have a look around the great facilities - if you need to work your horse to settle in let us know in advance and we can arrage for one of the arenas to be made available for you.
You will then get chance to meet your fellow campers and eat the scrumptious and plentiful food provided (dietary requirements will be checked with you in advance). You are welcome to bring their own drinks to consume on site although soft and warm drinks will be provided).
During Camp there will be a total of four training sessions, two on Friday and two on Saturday. We will email out a form in advance to ensure that combinations are groups according to needs. You will be given a choice to take part in the following disciplines:

Each evening we will be offering additional educational events and Matt’s quizzes are legendary (with prizes!!). The evening activities are there for you to get involved in if you wish but there’s no pressure – this is your time to enjoy your horse and have time away to have fun with your horse in whatever way you choose.
