The perfect opportunity to put your cross country skills to the test! This non-competitive event runs over the BE Standard XC course at Eland Lodge. The aim is to provide an encouraging practice round for young and inexperienced horses and riders, or for those looking to practice before moving up a level.
At each fence complex you can choose whether to jump the 50, 70cm, 80cm, 90cm or 1m option. You don’t have to stick to one height, so your round can take advantage of this pick ‘n mix approach so you can get the best ride. There are between 20 – 27 jumping efforts on each course, including a water complex.
Each riders is given an individual timeslot. Numbers and times are issued 48hrs before the event. The course will be available for walking from 2pm on Friday 10th June 2022 or the day prior to the event (however, this is a competition day, so care must be taken when walking the course, not to get in the way of competitors and to listen to fence judges instructions).
This isn’t a schooling round – you need to progress through the course at a reasonable pace (trot or canter), choose one option to jump at each opportunity, and after 3 refusals must move on to the next fence. If you’re not quite ready for this event, why not hire our XC course to practice, or book onto one of our clinics.
Entry Fee: £20 per round. Entries close one week prior, or earlier if the event is oversubscribed. Late entries may be accepted after the closing date if space permits, these will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. A £3 late entry fee per class will apply.
