Conditions of Entry for participants
1. All Participants must provide evidence of valid public liability insurance to take part in this event.
2. Copies of membership cards and/or insurance certificates must be include with the entry form
3. SCDC members must have previously been assessed in order to be covered by SCDC insurance
4. All horses, ponies & donkeys must be at least 4 years old if driven or ridden
5. Carriages must not carry more passengers than designed for – welfare of the horse is paramount
(NOTE: minimum of driver & capable groom required)
6. Junior Drivers must be at least 10yrs old with a competent adult seated next to them. Grooms
must be at least 12 yrs old if the driver is over 18yrs old. For drivers under 18yrs old, grooms must
be over 18yrs old
7. Hard hats conforming to the current standards to be worn by all participants when mounted on
horse or carriage
8. Participants should satisfy themselves that the condition of their clothing, vehicle, harness and
equipment is adequate to meet the needs of the event. Spares kits and basic first aid
(human/horse) should be carried on the vehicle
9. All accidents must be reported to the Event Secretary, organiser or other event official at the time
of occurrence
10. The appropriate rulebook for the type of event will be used. Otherwise British Carriagedriving
rules will apply
11. Horse, ponies & donkeys must have had a flu vaccination within the last 12 months and no
less than 7 days before the event
12. Lunging is NOT permitted on the showground.
13. All litter is to be taken home
14. Participants who withdraw before the closing date will not be charged. Refunds after the closing
date will be at the organiser’s discretion. In the event of cancellation by the club, entries will be
refunded after any costs have been met

Data Protection Statement
Southern Carriage Driving Club retains the data provided by those entering this event for the purpose of organising and running the event and planning of future events. By completing the entry form the participant understands and agrees that this data can be used for the publication of event reports, results of the event in paper and electronic media, including photographs taken at the event.

The organisers of the event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards.
