COMPETITION STRUCTURE AND SCORING It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure they enter the correct section as a Junior or Senior. (Juniors not to have attained their 16th birthday on the 1st January of the current year) Drawn orders will be issued in advance of the day. Cross country colours are permitted. If you do not have cross country colours, normal show gear must be worn. There will be a special rosette in each section for the most stylish rider. The competition will consist of a number of show jumps followed immediately by the cross-country section. There will be no more than 20 jumping efforts. The whole round will be timed. Penalties will be given as per the table below. The winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties. In the event of a tie the winner will be the one closest to, but under the optimum time with a clear round. Stop watches are not permitted and the display clock will not be on. Penalties as follows: 0.4 penalty for every commenced second under or above the optimum time 5 penalties for a knock down 5 penalties for a 1st refusal 10 penalties for 2nd refusal Third refusal - Elimination Fall of rider – Elimination Fall of horse – Elimination Error of course – Elimination Retaking obstacle already jumped - Elimination The judge’s decision is final.

b) Entries are £15 per class. First aid is £3 per rider and includes VAT at 20%.

No refund will be provided, although riders and ponies/horses may be substituted up until the Thursday before the competition.
4. DRAWN ORDER All Classes will be drawn order. This is a set order that the competitors must jump in. The drawn orders, with times, will be posted on the Thursday before the competition after 1600 hours on the website, www.aintreeequestriancentre.co.uk. Horses/ponies must jump in the order/time they appear on the Running Order. It is the competitors responsibility to ensure that they do not miss their draw. If you miss your draw time, then you will not be able to jump.
5. COMPETITION STRUCTURE AND SCORING The competition will consist of several Show Jumps followed immediately by the Cross- Country section, the whole round will be timed, the clear round with the closest time to the optimum time will win. A style prize will be given for each class to a competitor chosen by the judge for the dress and style whilst jumping the round. Each round will start within the start box.
Clear Rounds take precedence over anyone with jumping faults, the winner will be the one nearest the optimum time with a clear round.
There will be no more than 20 jumping efforts
5 seconds will be added for a knock down or refusal
3 refusals in total = elimination
1st fall of rider – 10 second penalty
2nd fall of rider – elimination
Fall of horse – elimination
Stop watches are not permitted
The judge’s decision is final
All rounds to be started within the start box

6. DRESS Formal riding wear is required to include safety hats to current standards and suitable boots. A cross country shirt and silk may be worn instead of a riding jacket. Long riding boots/short boots and half chaps/gaiters are mandatory. Whips and spurs must be in accordance with current BE Rules. Body Protectors are recommended but not compulsory
7. PRIZE MONEY Prize money will be awarded as follows:- if more than 5 entries per class - 1st = £20. If more than 10 entries per class - 2nd £10, if more than 15 per class - 3rd = £5
