All classes are Chiltern and Thames qualifiers except 12 , 15 and 16. Please check eligibility. All classes are Widmer Championship qualifiers. Classes that are Equifest and Sunshine tour qualifiers are listed below. “This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on the 8th – 12th August 2018. Please note – you MUST have an Equifest qualifier card for the judge to sign with you in the ring to qualify. These MUST be obtained from Equifest before the show. The 2 highest placed exhibitors in each class who have not already qualified will qualify Class 1NUPAFEED / EQUIFEST RIDING HORSES Open Riding Horse, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, any height. Riders any age. Classes may be divided as follows: Small Riding Horses - mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 158cms. Riders any age. Large Riding Horses - mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 158cms. Riders any age.attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead rein to be attached to the noseband only. Class 4 NUPAFEED / EQUIFEST RIDDEN COBS Open Ridden Cob, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 155cms. Riders any age. Classes may be divided as follows: Open Lightweight Ridden Cob, mare or gelding, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 155cms. Open Heavyweight Ridden Cob, mare or gelding, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 155cms. Class 4 HAYGAIN / EQUIFEST MAXI COBS Open Maxi Cobs, mare or gelding 4 years old and over, exceeding 155cms – to be judged as Cobs. Riders any age. Class 5 EQUIFEST OPEN RIDDEN MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C and D. Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age. This class may be divided as appropriate. Class 5 EQUIFEST RIDDEN PART BREDS Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Exhibits in this section must be registered in the Part Bred section of their respective Breed Society. Registration numbers must be stated on the entry form. Horses and ponies will not be ridden at the final. Riders any age. Classes may be divided as appropriate. Class 6 BSPA / EQUIFEST RIDDEN PIEBALD / SKEWBALD Open ridden Piebald / Skewbald stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over. Riders any age. The first three places will also qualify for the BSPA Championship. Subject to their show rules & conditions. Classes may be divided according to entries. Class 7 SPILLERS / EQUIFEST MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND IN HAND Open to In Hand Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C and D. Stallion, Class 8 BSPA / EQUIFEST IN HAND PIEBALD / SKEWBALD Open in Hand Piebald / Skewbald stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.The first three places will also qualify for the BSPA Championships. Subject to their show rules & conditions Classes may be divided according to entries. Class 13 CAVERNOMA ALLIANCE UK / EQUIFEST MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND LEAD REIN Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland and Welsh A or B. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their 9 th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown in a Snaffle Bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband only. Class 13 DAVEY’S LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT LTD / EQUIFEST SHOW PONY LEAD REIN Leading Rein Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their 8 th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead rein to be attached to the noseband only. Class 8 BSPA / EQUIFEST IN HAND PIEBALD / SKEWBALD Open in Hand Piebald / Skewbald stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.The first three places will also qualify for the BSPA Championships. ALL SHOWS ARE QUALIFIERS EXCEPT SEPTEMBER The Sunshine Tour National Championship is held on the ‘hallowed turf’ of The All England Showground at Hickstead from Thursday 13th – Sunday 16th September 2018 for unaffiliated and amateur competitors of all ages and abilities. The Championships features: Showing for lead rein, first ridden, in-hand, ridden, working hunter, veterans, plus many more. All classes except class Class 18 In Hand Driving Type To qualify: 1st to 4th placed in dressage, show jumping & showing and 1st to 6th in eventers challenges. Entries close 13th August COMPETITION RULES 1 SAFETY 1.1 At all mounted events all riders must wear hats in accordance with the current safety requirements. They must be in good condition and correctly fitted. 1.2 Proper footwear and jackets must be worn at all events 1.3 Galloping is not be permitted outside the rings and designated warm up areas. 1.4 No Glass bottles or containers are to be brought onto the showground. 1.5 Horses must not be ridden unless correctly and fully tacked up. 1.6 Any competitor who falls off in any ring will, unfortunately, be eliminated. 2 GENERAL 2.1 There are no entries to be taken at the ringside. 2.2 Dogs must be kept on leads at all time 2.3 Excessive use of whips and/or spurs will result in elimination. 2.4 No horse or pony under 4 years old to be ridden on the show ground. 2.5. Current passports may be asked for at random. All competitors must carry their horses’ /ponies’ passports at all times. 2.6 Stallions and colts are to be bitted on the show ground and shown or ridden by someone of 14 years or over. 2.7 In consideration to our Landlords, please take your litter home. No mucking out of vehicles on the Showground 3 CONDUCT 3.1 Visitors shall conduct themselves in a responsible manner at all times and shall have regard to the fact that the events are held on private land 3.2 Any officer, member of staff of the centre or official appointed for an event shall have the right to caution a visitor or competitor as to his/her behaviour at the time. If thought necessary this event shall be reported formally to the secretary for consideration and any action which the secretary considers is warranted. 3.3 Any visitor or competitor who by word or act is abusive or discourteous to a judge, member of staff, representative of the centre or any animal will be disqualified from the class and may be ordered off the show ground and their entries withdrawn. 3.4 All Litter is to be deposited in the rubbish bins provided or removed from the show ground upon departure. 4 JUDGES DECISION AND OBJECTIONS 4.1 The secretary reserve the right to refuse any entry without stating the reason for doing so and can cancel or amalgamate any classes if the entries justify this course of action. 4.2 Judges have the right to query any entrant’s qualifications to enter a class e.g. height of pony, age of rider, previous experience etc. 4.3 Officials and competitors only are permitted in the show rings. 4.4 No late entrants will be allowed into the ring once the judging of a class has commenced. If you leave the ring you may be only allowed back in with the judge’s permission. 4.5 The decision of the judge is, in every case, final. No objection may be made directly to a judge. Objections must be made in writing to the secretary’s tent within 30 minutes of completion of the judging of the class concerned. All objections to be accompanied by a deposit of £10.00. This fee is refundable should the objection be sustained. 5 RESPONSIBILITIES 5.1 Persons participating in or attending any event do so at their own risk. 5.2 Widmer Equestrian Centre, organisers, and their helpers are not responsible for any injury, to any participant, spectator or horse or for any loss or damage of any vehicle, trailer, box or equipment brought onto the show ground or parking area. 6 PAYMENT AND REFUNDS 6.1 Refunds are not available. It is the competitor’s responsibility to get to the arenas in plenty of time for their class
