Leukaemia Care Charity Show Jumping

Hello friends, I'm running the 2018 London Marathon for Leukaemia CARE, so I can help support people facing blood cancer! Eaglesfield Equestrian Centre have generously agreed to host a Show Jumping Fundraiser on Oct 22nd to help raise £2,250 for my place in the race. I wanted to make sure that I was not just asking people to donate to a random organisation that I didn’t have a real tie to. Blood cancer touches many people's lives, not least within my own family. GPs play a crucial role in diagnosing blood cancer early, but the fact that they may only see one case of blood cancer every two years, combined with the notoriously vague and non-specific symptoms, means that diagnosis can be a challenge. Early diagnosis has a significant impact on both survival rates and patient experience. Leukaemia CARE are running a fantastic campaign in partnership with the Royal College of General Practitioners to support GPs and equip them with the knowledge to spot the signs and symptoms of blood cancer earlier and refer patients for appropriate specialist tests and treatment.
