RULES – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Health and SafetyRules – The Organisers of this event have taken responsible precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precaution to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers, Officials and Instructors.
1. The Organisers reserve the right to exclude any horse or pony they consider to be a danger to spectators or other competitors. Known kickers should wear a red tail ribbon.
2. Stallions are allowed providing the animal has full insurance cover, including third party liability, and is handled by a competent adult.
3. Competitors and Spectators must obey the instructions of the Officials of the Club at all times whilst on the Showground.
4. No galloping on the Showground. Cantering and trotting is only permitted in rings.
5. Dogs must be on a lead at all times.
6. £1.50 per competitor per show for First Aidcover.
Competition Rules
1. Correctly fitting Hard Hats must be worn fastened whilst mounted anywhere within the Showground area.  Hats must be to current / approved BSI standard PAS015(1998 OR 2011)/ ASTM F1163 /SNELL E 2001  Junior members are also compelled to wear them when competing in In-hand and Novelty Classes.  Correct footwear must be worn when riding.
2. No horse / pony under 4 years of age, to be ridden on the showground.
3. Stallions are allowed providing the animal has full insurance cover, including third party liability, and is handled by a competent handler 16 years of age or over.
4. Snaffle bridles must be worn in Equitation Classes. WILKIE snaffles are not permitted
5. Spurs are not to be worn in Equitation Classes and are not to be worn by Junior members in any class.(unless you have your membership card signed by the DC)
6. Definition of a NOVICE… Is a combination of horse and rider not to have been placed Champion or Reserve last season in a Novice class or to have won a pre-open class in the respective discipline
7. Whips are not to exceed 30 inches in length in any class.
8. Lead-rein competitors may enter other showing classes on the Lead-rein. They can also attempt First ridden off the lead rein and enter Absolute Beginners classes off the lead rein.
9. Canter is optional in the First Ridden and there will be no canter on go round in Primary Equitation.
10. Our Club recommends that Back Protectors, standard BETA 2009 Level 3 standard (purple label) are worn in Jumping and Working Hunter classes, and are compulsory for Cross Country.
11. The Judges decision is final and binding in all cases. Please remember the judges are guests of the club and should be treated as such.
12. Once the Show has commenced, it is the responsibility of the Competitor to be available for classes. It is good manners and expected that apologies are sent to the Judge / Ring Steward if you are going to be late for their class.
13. Inappropriate language / behaviour will not be tolerated in any form. This may result in memberships being revoked.
14. Classes with insufficient entries may be combined at the Committees discretion.
15. Entry Fees cannot be refunded except in genuine cases of injury to horse, rider or handler.
16. Grievances or complaints must be put in writing and handed to a Committee Member before the end of the show, with a fee of £10.00.
17. To qualify for points, the horse / pony you enter must not change name nor may a substitute horse/pony be used.
18. Members must attend the same class at TWO point shows for their points to count.
19. Trophies awarded at the Presentation Dance must be returned Clean to a Committee Member or to the show no later than the end of September. A penalty of £5.00 and the incurred costs of recovery will be levied on all late returns.
20. Only competitors for the Show Jumping and Working Hunter classes in progress must enter the Collecting Ring. Jumps must not be higher than the current class.
21.  The organisers do not accept liability for accident, damage or loss anyone, animal or property whilst at the show meetings.
22. All horses / ponies must have a valid Equine Passport.
