44th Annual Horse Show - Sunday 28th May 2017 *** Qualifiers for the Veteran Horse Society Championships *** *** Qualifiers for the Equifest Showing Show *** Rosettes 1st – 4th place, annual trophy to all class winners, except Veteran classes, where the champion will receive the trophy. Rosettes for all entrants in the Fun classes (45-50). Fun classes can be entered either ridden or in hand. Champion and Reserve from each section to compete for the 2017 Supreme Championship Sash for Supreme Champion and Reserve Champion. A Horse Monkey Rug will be presented to the highest placed competitor in the Supreme Championship, provided they have entered via Horse Monkey. Advanced Entries via Horse Monkey: Fun classes £4.00 / all other classes £7.00 / first aid £2 ENTRIES ON THE DAY: Members £7.00 & Non Members £8.00 per class. Calderdale Saddle Club Annual Show Rules and Regulations 2017 The organisers accept no responsibility for loss or damage, injury or accident to spectators, exhibitors, or riders, or their property as a result of attending this show. Please take appropriate care to prevent such accident or loss to yourselves and others. It is recommended that all competitors hold a suitable third party public liability insurance policy. Riders must wear hard hats to the current BHS 2016 Riding Club regulations, securely fastened, at all times when mounted. This also applies to handlers 15 years and under. It is a competitors responsibility to ensure their hat complies with new regulations and hat spot checks will take place. No horse/pony under 4yrs will be allowed to compete in any ridden class. All dogs must be kept on a lead, please clear up after your dog. No exercising of horses and ponies in the parking area, in the interest of safety, please use the designated collecting ring only. No cantering/galloping outside of the competition rings. Age for horse/pony and rider as at 1 January 2017. Classes may be split or amalgamated at the organiser’s discretion. All stallions and colts should be suitably bitted and handled by persons 16 yrs and over. Any formal objections to results should be made in writing to the Secretary accompanied by a deposit of £20, which will be refunded if the objection is upheld. If an entry is late for a class due to competing in another ring the judge may wait, or allow late entry to the ring entirely at his/her own discretion. No refunds will be given. No mucking out on the show field and please take all litter home with you. No lunging anywhere on the Showground. Mistreatment of any animal on the Showground will not be tolerated, the competitor./handler may be asked to leave the Showground. No Horse/pony to be left unattended tied outside a horsebox/trailer. To qualify for Equifest it is the responsibility of the exhibitor to provide a qualification card for the judge to sign, these can be obtained from the Equifest Show Secretary. Novice equitation—snaffle bits only. No spurs allowed in any equitation classes, bits of a suitable type to be used at Judges discretion. Horseboxes, Vehicles towing trailers and other motor vehicles MUST park where directed to avoid congestion. Failure to comply with this request will lead to you being asked to leave the Showground immediately and all entries forfeited. DIRECTIONS: From Halifax Through Halifax to King Cross A58 at traffic lights turn left signed Huddersfield, straight ahead at mini roundabout and through two sets of lights. At T junction by hospital turn right signed to Huddersfield approx. 1 mile bear right signed to West Vale Next lights turn right up Rochdale Road and continue uphill for approx 1 mile. Turn right into Turbury Lane and continue along this road through the village of Nor-land. The showground is on the left hand side and will be signposted. From the M62 Westbound M62 Junction 24 down to the roundabout and then follow signs for A629 Halifax. After approx 2 miles turn left at the traffic lights and immediately left again at the mini-roundabout onto the B6112. Approx 1 mile turn right at the traffic lights (B6113) Rochdale Road and continue uphill for approx 1 mile. Turn right into Turbury Lane and continue along this road through the village of Norland. The showground is on the left hand side and will be signposted. From the M62 Eastbound M62 Junction 22 follow the signs for A672 Halifax. Continue for approx 5 miles to the traffic lights. Continue straight through the traffic lights and then immediately turn right B6113. Continue uphill for 1 mile until the road levels out and then take the next left at a small cross roads (signed Norland). Continue on this road for approx 1 mile and the show-ground is on the right hand side and will be signposted. Equifest Qualifiers This show is affiliated to Equifest taking place at the East of England Showground on the 9-13 August 2017. The 2 highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. Classes 7,8,9, 19,20,21,22,23,26,27,28,29,39,40 and 42 are qualifiers Classes 7,8,22,23,39 are open to all Mountain and Moorland ponies – Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A,B,C and D. However only the two highest ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies will qualify for Equifest. Classes 9 and 29 are open to all coloured ponies, however only the two highest placed skewbald or piebald ponies will qualify for Equifest. Equifest Qualification cards must be presented in the ring for the judge to sign. If you do not have a card please see the Secretary before you enter the ring, we may have some spare cards to hand out. Veteran Horse Society Qualifiers This show is an Area Qualifier for 2017. These classes are open to members and non members. All competitors placed 1st – 4th will qualify for the VHS Regional Finals. Members will receive a green qualification card whilst non members will receive a red card. Non-members must become members of VHS to compete at the regional final.
