RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

By entering any event at GBEC, participants are deemed to have agreed to abide by these rules:
1. The organisers of these events have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the organisers / instructors.
2. Participants, or their parents/guardians, must consider themselves competent to complete the activity for which they are entering. If the judge deems any rider or horse to be unsuitable/unsafe to participate they will be asked to leave immediately and no refund will be given.
3. All persons under the age of 16 years must be accompanied and supervised by a parent/guardian.
4. Vet & Farrier - Mayes & Scrine Equine Veterinary Practice 01306 628222 & Jake Gregory Farrier Services 07881 904454 are on call for these events. Fees payable at time of visit.
5. Great Bookham Shows & Events, their representatives or helpers do not accept liability for injury, damage or loss suffered by spectators, competitors, their horses, grooms, friends, vehicles or property however caused under any circumstances except proven negligence of the organisers.
6. Correctly fitting riding hat complying with current safety standards, and safe footwear must be worn whilst mounted. Body protectors are strongly recommended.
7. Horses must be 4 years old or over to be eligible to compete in ridden classes. Animals deemed to be sick or lame will not be allowed to compete or be ridden on the showground and a refund will not be given. Stallions are welcome provided they are displaying appropriate tail ribbons, are well behaved and not causing a nuisance or danger to other competitors or their horses.
8. Qualification for championships may be subject to further verification including supplying of documentation to prove age / name / competitive status of rider or horse and / or investigation into previous winnings / placings / membership / performance.
9. We reserve the right to cancel or alter any part or the whole of the schedule at any time. Details given in the schedule are correct at time of printing but may subsequently be altered.
10. The judge’s decision is final. Any objections must be brought to the organiser’s attention on the day of competition and we will make every effort to resolve problems. Formal objections should be lodged with the secretary within 30 minutes of the incident.
11. Withdrawals: Competitors withdrawing before entry closing date may transfer to another event. A vet’s or doctor’s certificate may be required for a refund of entry fees (less small admin fee).
12. If weather or ground conditions are poor it is the responsibility of competitors to confirm that events are running by ringing 01372 451458 or checking www.gbec.info the evening before (after 6pm) or morning of each competition. Every effort will be made to re-schedule, but in the event of a competition being cancelled, entry fees minus a small administration charge will be refunded.
13. It is the responsibility of all participants to clear up their rubbish and debris and leave the showground fit for grazing. Please do not leave your rubbish behind on the showground.
14. All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Owners who allow their dogs to run loose on the showground will be required to remove them from the premises immediately.
