Terms and Conditions
1. These Terms and Conditions apply to all competitors and spectators and must be adhered to at all times. Entry into any competition, including the hire of the Centre, shall be deemed an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
2. Aintree International Equestrian Centre, Aintree Racecourse Developments Limited and Aintree Racecourse Company Limited reserve the right to refuse entry/hire without stating the reason, to cancel the competition and all rights of admission.
3. Aintree International Equestrian Centre, Aintree Racecourse Developments Limited and Aintree Racecourse Company Limited do not accept any responsibility or liability for any injury, accident, damage or illness to any person, property or animal whatsoever, or for any loss whatsoever, arising out of, or occurring at any competition, show or event. It shall be a condition of entry, each entrant shall indemnify the organisers against any legal action whatsoever arising from any accident.
4. Everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the officials and stewards.
5. All entry, stable and hire fees include VAT@ 20%. All entries and hire fees must be paid for in full prior to leaving the Show. A £15 administration fee will be payable on any outstanding accounts or dishonoured cheques, plus interest.
6. All prize money will be paid out on the day of the Show and must be collected from the Secretary’s Office before 6.00p.m. Prize money not collected on the day will be forfeited.
7. All horses and ponies using the Stables must have a current and valid certificate of vaccination against equine flu. There will be random checking of certificates, any queries regarding this, please call the Show Secretary.
8. All entries must be made on the entry form with full entry fees. Every Exhibitor and Competitor will be held responsible for the correctness of his or her entry forms and if he/she fails, when called upon by the Stewards or Show to prove the correctness of such entry, the entry may be disqualified and any award made to it cancelled.
9. No motor bikes or scooters are allowed on the Racecourse. All dogs must be kept on leads and under proper control at all times.
10. Any individual seen to be causing distress or suffering to any animal will be asked to leave the Racecourse and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
11. No horse or pony under the age of 4 years shall be ridden in any Class.
12. Full and correct attire must be worn by all competitors when riding. For jumping Classes all competitors and grooms, when mounted, must wear a British Standard skull/hard hat, which must be fastened. Failure to do so will incur elimination. Aintree Equestrian Centre accepts no responsibility for any injury arising from a failure to comply with this.
13. Any competitor who is considered by the organisers, stewards, judges to have received outside assistance without prior permission, will be eliminated from the Class.
14. Entries received after the close of entry (Friday 3rd June) will be charged a £10 surcharge for each Class entered.
15. All Breed/Society registration numbers must be given where applicable.
16. All Competitor numbers are to be collected from the Secretary’s Office on arrival at the Showground.
17. The Organisers reserve the right to appoint a replacement Judge whenever it is deemed necessary.
18. Objection to entries or awards must be made in writing to the Secretary on the Show Day, accompanied by a deposit of £50 which will be refunded if the objection is sustained.
19. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel, limit, divide or amalgamate any Class.
20. The decision of the Judge is final.
21. Horses and ponies may be measured at the discretion of the Judge unless in possession of a valid J.M.B. height certificate.
22. No animal suffering from a contagious disease may be brought onto the Racecourse.
23. In the event of a Veterinary Surgeon advising the removal of any animal from the Show his decision shall be final and immediately complied with.
24. All disputes shall be referred to the Aintree Equestrian Centre Organisers, whose decision is final.
25. All persons entering, competing or exhibiting an animal in a Class covered by a Breed or Showing Society either to which the Aintree National Showing Show is affiliated or which is affiliated to the Aintree National Showing Show shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the relevant Breed or Showing Society and be subject to its constitution and rules (including any disciplinary procedures).
26. Exhibitors must provide their own armbands. Anyone who fails to wear an armband when this has been requested will be debarred from competing
for that Special Award.
27. This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (BSPS) and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS
Classes, whether or not members of the BSPS are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the Society, including the Disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS
28. Exhibitors are responsible for all costs in connection with any veterinary treatment given on the Showground and must be settled at the time with the Veterinary Surgeon concerned.
29. Strictly no admittance to the Showground/Racecourse prior to 5.30 a.m. on the morning of the Show. Strictly NO EXERCISING of animals on the Showground/Racecourse prior to 5.30am. on the day of the Show. Anyone found infringing these rules will be disqualified from entering the Show and no refund of entry fees will be made.
30. It is a condition of entry that exhibitors conform with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and for ensuring that safe working practices are followed by themselves, their employees, Agents and Contractors. Exhibitors shall at all times comply with the instructions of the Show Officials.
31. Exhibitors Risk and Responsibility – Neither AINTREE RACECOURSE or AINTREE INTERNATIONAL EQUESTRIAN CENTRE, NOR ANY OF IT’S OFFICERS OR SERVANTS SHALL BE IN ANY WAY RESPONSIBLE or accountable for anything that may happen (from any cause or circumstances whatsoever) to exhibitors or their servants or agents or to any exhibit or to any vehicle carrying any exhibit or anything else brought into the Showground or for anything else arising out of the Show. EACH EXHIBITOR shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss or injury or damage done to or commissioned by or arising from any animal or article exhibited by him or her and shall indemnify the Show against all legal or other proceedings in regard thereto.
32. The Aintree National Show cannot be responsible for the clashing of Classes and exhibitors should bear this in mind when making their entries. We cannot guarantee timings, it is up to the competitor to keep an eye on when their class is. Entry fees WILL NOT be refunded if you miss your class or your class clashes.
33. No member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete in any showing Classes at Aintree National Showing Show without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk of injury.
34. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to insure all property and animals on the showground or elsewhere which is his/her own, or for which he/she is responsible. Exhibitors should effect Employers Liability Insurance where this is required by statute.
REFUNDS will only be given on the production of a valid veterinary certificate. Class entry fee and first aid fee will only be refunded. Online booking fee NOT included.
POSTPONEMENT OR ABANDONMENT Exhibitors shall not have any claim against the Aintree National Show in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever consequent upon the Show failing (for whatever reason) to be held. Under no circumstances will entry fees be returned in the case of postponement or cancellation of the Show for whatever reason.

COMPETITORS MUST MAKE THEMSELVES AWARE OF ANY RULES REGARDING ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE, AS LAID DOWN BY THE SOCIETY TO WHICH THEIR CLASSES ARE AFFILIATED.
THE AINTREE NATIONAL SHOW IS A QUALIFIER FOR:
B.S.P.S. (affiliation number 9/16)
This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society ("B.S.P.S."), and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in B.S.P.S. Classes, whether or not members of the B.S.P.S. are subject to the Rules of the B.S.P.S., including the disciplinary procedures, and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the B.S.P.S."
In all Classes affiliated to the BSPS, the BSPS Rules take precedence.
THE BRITISH SHOW PONY SOCIETY: SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
The 1st and 2nd prize winners from Classes 214-218, 223-226, 250-256 The 1st, 2nd and 3rd from Classes 219-220,227, 235-236, 241, 242, 252, 257, 266-269, and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Classes 213 and 221 will qualify for the BSPS Championship Show, provided the animal is registered in accordance with Rule 23 and 28 and ridden by a BSPS member, all persons entering, competing or otherwise taking part whether a Member or not shall be deemed to the jurisdiction of the BSPS
BSPS ‘CLASSIC SECURITY UK LTD’ CHALLENGE 2016: The highest placed pony in the L/R, F/R, Open Show Pony, L/R of Hunter Type, Open Heritage Ridden, Open Show Hunter Pony, Cradle & Nursery Stakes, Open Working Hunter Pony Open Heritage WHP and the Open Intermediate SRT, SHT and WH that has not qualified for the 2016 H.O.Y.S. in the appropriate Class will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified then the next eligible pony will qualify.
THE B.S.P.S. PREMIER LEAGUE
This show is a qualifier for the “BSPS Premier League”, the 1st. 2nd. 3rd. & 4th placed ponies in the Lead Rein and First Ridden,128cms., 138cms. and 148cms. Show Pony, Lead Rein Hunter Type, 122cms., 133cms., 143cms. and 153cms. Show Hunter Pony, Cradle and Nursery Stakes, 133cms., 143cms. and 153cms. Working Hunter Pony, Intermediate Show Riding, Show Hunter and Working Hunter Classes and the Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Heritage Ridden Small, B & C’s, and Large Breeds and the Open Heritage WHP Classes, and 1st to 4th in Mixed Height Open Classes.
THE B.S.P.S. CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS
This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Champion of Champions, the Champion Mini Show Pony, the Champion Mini WHP, the Champion Open Show Pony, the Champion Open WHP/WH, the Champion Open SHP the Champion Open Intermediate. Ponies placed 1st in the B.S.P.S Open Heritage M&M classes will qualify for the B.S.P.S WOW Factors (“Winners of Winners”) at the B.S.P.S Summer Championship Show.
B.S.P.S.”BLACK COUNTRY SADDLES” BEST RIDER
“This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Best Rider of the Year”
The Best Rider in the Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Lead Rein Hunter Type, 128cms. 138cms. and 148cms. Show Pony, the 122cms. 133cms. 143cms. and 153cms. SHP., the Cradle and Nursery Stakes, the 133cms. 143cms. and 153cms. WHP., the Intermediate Show Riding Type, Show Hunter, Working Hunter Classes and Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden and to the best rider 25years and under in the Heritage Ridden and WHP Classes will receive a Card and qualify for the final at the BSPS Summer Championships Show.
BRITISH SHOW HORSE ASSOCIATION: -
Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Competitors and Horses must be registered or have temporary membership with a Day
Ticket. Horses registered with the Association must be Owned, Exhibited and Ridden by current BSHA Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older.
DAY TICKETS Non-Members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Tickets per Exhibitor, per Horse per season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into
Amateur, Home Produced, In-Hand, Novice, Working, Young Rider and Open Affiliated Classes only. Horses registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB height certificate. Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket by downloading an application form from the BSHA website.
Horses competing in the Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain Classes at their Affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hack and Riding Horse Classes at the same show. This does not apply to SHB (GB) Ridden Sport Horse Classes.
The three highest placed prize winners in all Open Affiliated Classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the National
Championship Show 2015.
Novice Hack, Cob, Maxi Cob and Riding Horse. A Novice is a Hack, Cob, Maxi Cob or Riding Horse that has not won a first prize of £35 or more, or more than a total of £250 (including Championship Prize Money) in any showing classes excluding Working Show Horses, Best Trained, Pairs, Side
Saddle, or In-Hand classes that were Affiliated to the Association, at home or abroad, prior to 1st January 2015. If the category has changed from a Hack to a Riding Horse or vice versa, it may not revert back to a Novice if it has won a first prize of £35 or more than a total of £250 (including Championship Prize Money) in any showing classes that were Affiliated to the Association at home or abroad prior to 1st January 2015. Winnings as a 4 year old are exempt, unless that 4 year old has won an Open Ridden class with a first prize of £35 or more. Snaffle bridles may be worn for Novice classes. Novice animals must be Registered with the Association or Exhibitors must have purchased a ‘Day Ticket’ in order to compete in Novice classes. Animals which have been placed first at either the Royal International Horse Show or Horse of the Year Show in any ridden class, BSHA or otherwise, are ineligible to compete in Novice Hack, Cob, Maxi Cob or Riding Horse classes.
Amateur Status – a person is an Amateur for the purpose of classes run under Association Rules if
he/she does not, during the current or previous season:
(i) Engage in breeding, livery, buying, selling, dealing or hiring horses in a commercial capacity.
(ii) Receive remuneration for employment in the connection with horses in racing, showing, livery stable or riding school (instruction at Pony Club and Riding Club excepted). This does not include the suppliers of ancillary services such as farriers and vets.

iii) Own/Part own an equestrian establishment including but not limited to riding schools, events centre, stud or livery yard in any capacity, or receive any form of remuneration for employment at an equestrian establishment. For the avoidance of doubt for the purpose of this rule, immediate family members of an owner or part owner of an equestrian establishment who work or are howsoever otherwise engaged or involved in any capacity, whether or not for remuneration at the equestrian establishment, will be treated as being an owner or part owner of that equestrian establishment.
(iv) Show a Horse owned or sponsored by a company or a commercial firm, in any showing classes, BSHA or otherwise, or a Horse for which his/her immediate family accepts livery or training charges from a person outside the immediate family concerned.
(v) A competitor is not eligible to compete in Amateur classes on an Exhibit, which has been ridden by a Professional Rider in any Open classes, BSHA or otherwise, with the exception of Open Working, Show Horse and Side Saddle classes, during the current year unless the Horse has subsequently been re-registered under new Ownership.
On the day when an Exhibit is competing in an Amateur class, Professionals are not allowed to ride or work-in the relevant animal. No Professional Producers are allowed into the ring to groom/strip the Horse.
(B) Amateur Owner/Amateur Rider. Open to Horses owned and ridden by an Amateur, (the Rider need not be the Owner of the Horse). This ruling will also apply to Amateurs who wish to compete in the Annual Amateur Points Awards.
(C) Amateur Owner Rider/Home Produced. Open to Horses, which are either stabled at home or in a D. I. Y. yard and which since 1st January 2015 have not been shown by a Professional during the current season or stabled in a Professional yard at any time in 2015. To be ridden by an Amateur. This does not exclude Amateur Owner Home Produced riders having lessons at any time with an instructor, providing the Horse remains stabled at home. No Professional Producers are allowed into the ring to groom/strip the Horse.
The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open Class and a Championship rosette for each section (with the exception of Open Working Show Horse)."
CHERIF CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2016 - The final will be held at the Cherif Championship show at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Addington Bucks on 18th September 2016. NCPA PONY OF THE YEAR:- This show is a qualifier for the N.C.P.A. Pony of the Year Show and the Part Bred Welsh Ridden Championships to be held in conjunction with the Pony of the Year Show at Rodbaston College in September 2016. First and second prize winners in appropriate Classes will
qualify.
COLOURED HORSE AND PONY SOCIETY (UK) 14023 This show is affiliated to the Coloured Horse and pony Society (UK). Affiliation No. 15046.
Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However in order ti Qualify both Owner and Rider/ Exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid Qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the judge. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card.
The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held on 7th - 9th August 2016. Shows held on or after date of Championship Show will count as 2017 Qualifiers.
The following Classes 94-108 are CHAPS (UK) qualifiers. For full rulings and information on competition/qualification, please refer to the CHAPS (UK) Members Handbook; or visit www.chapsuk.com. for rulings; plus any relevant updates issued. For full rulings and information on

No spurs to be worn by junior competitors (under 18 years) or any rider competing in a restricted height section. All ages taken as at 1st January in the current year. All stallions, 4 years and over entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS (UK). All stallions must wear Stallion ID Disks in the ring.
NATIONAL HUNTER SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW [NHSCS]
The three highest placed horses in the L/W, M/W, H/W & Small Hunter Classes will qualify to enter at the NHSCS. No horse lower than third will qualify.
THIS SHOW IS A QUALIFIER FOR THE IRISH DRAUGHT HORSE SOCIETY (GB) BLUE CHIP £2,000 CHALLENGE
The highest placed horse (not already qualified) from each of Classes 22 & 23 will qualify for the Final of the Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge.
Horses in these Classes MUST be registered on the Irish Draught Breed Registers (main studbook) or Irish Draught Sport Horse Registers. Registration numbers must be stated on the entry form. ALSO, the highest placed horse (not already qualified) from each of Classes 44 - 46 (Working Hunter), 24 - 28 (Ridden Cob), 38 - 40 & 43 (Riding Horse), 7 - 14 (Ridden Hunter) that is registered or eligible for registration on the Irish Draught or Irish Draught Sport Horse Registers, i.e. with a minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught breeding, will qualify for the Final of the Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge. Horses in these Classes need not be registered with the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) to qualify but MUST be on the IDHS (GB) Registers by the time of the Championship. THE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show on 12th – 13th September 2015 at the Lincolnshire Showground, Grange-de-Lings Lincoln LN2 2NA]. NB: A horse may only qualify for the Final once, regardless of the type or number of Classes won, placed in or entered. Each Qualifier will receive a card and a £10 voucher from Blue Chip. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.com/qualified/ to inform the IDHS (GB) that they have qualified for the Final. IN THE FINAL, the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money, a Trophy and a Blue Chip Rug. The Reserve Champion will be awarded £500 and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In addition, the highest placed Pure Bred Irish Draught will receive a Trophy and £100 and the highest placed 158cms (15.2hh) and under will receive a Trophy and £50 and the highest placed Amateur Produced and Ridden Horse will receive a silver salver and a rug.
The Moorbennhall Irish Draught Youngstock Challenge (pure breds only) and The Lakeview Horse Transport IDSH Youngstock Challenge This show is a Qualifier for The Moorbennhall Irish Draught Youngstock Challenge (Pure Breds only) and The Lakeview Horse Transport IDSH Youngstock Challenge (Irish Draught Sport Horses only). The two highest placed Pure Breds from each age group - yearlings, 2 year olds, and 3 year olds - from Class 17, eligible for Class 1 on the Irish Draught Breed Register by an RID (GB), ID Class 1 or ID Class 2 sire out of a Graded* dam and also 2 and 3 year old fillies already Graded* or, if one or both have already qualified, the horse next in line in each age group will qualify for the Final. (*A Graded* mare or filly is one which has been inspected or overstamped by the IDHS (GB) and passed into one of the following categories: ID Class 1, ID Class 2, RID, AID, or the Supplementary Grade Up Register.)The two highest placed Irish Draught Sport Horses from each age group – yearlings, 2 year olds, and 3 year olds – from Class 17 registered on the Grade 1 or Grade 2 Irish Draught Sport Horse Registers or, if one or both have already qualified, the horse next in line in each age group will qualify for the Final. Each qualifier will receive a card. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.com/qualified/ to inform the IDHS(GB) that they have qualified for the Final. Following submission of the online form, a qualifier’s pack will be sent out direct to the qualifier. In the Final, there will be three Classes each with prize money to the value of £150. The two highest placed semi-finalists from each Class will go forward to the Championship, where the Champion will receive £150 and Reserve Champion £100. The Final will be held at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show on 12th – 13th September 2015 at the Lincolnshire Showground, Grange-de-Lings Lincoln LN2 2NA.IDHS (GB) SPECIAL INCENTIVE CARDS: The Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) will award Special Incentive Cards to the highest placed Irish Draught Pure Bred or Irish Draught Sport Horse in Classes 44 - 47 (Working Hunter), 24 - 31 (Ridden Cob), 38 - 43 (Riding Horse), 1 - 6 (In Hand Hunter), 7 - 16 (Ridden Hunter). To be eligible, exhibits must be registered with or overstamped by the IDHS(GB) on either their Irish Draught Breed Registers or Irish Draught Sport Horse Registers. Registration numbers to be stated on the entry form.


The Tattersalls, RoR Thoroughbred Show Series 2015
The Tattersalls and RoR Thoroughbred Ridden Show Horse Class
Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. The first two go forward to the championship at the Hickstead Derby Meeting on 2015. Qualification will go down to 4th place if the first 2 have already qualified. All entries MUST be registered with Weatherbys in their General Stud Book and MUST also be registered with the ROR. The Class is open to thoroughbreds that have RACED. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15years or over. The Class will be run under the rules of RoR. Horses will be ridden by the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap.
TGCA (GB)The Traditional Gypsy Cob Association
TGCA In Hand Classes -These Classes are qualifiers for the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA) National Breed Championship Show (TOYS) which will be held at Keysoe EC, Bedfordshire, on 18th and 19th September 2015. These Classes are open to all traditional gypsy cobs. You do not need to be a current member or to have your horse registered with the TGCA in order to take part in these Classes.
Qualification will go to the top 3 youngstock, top 3 up to 14hh and top 3 over 14h senior in hand, provided the exhibit meets the traditional gypsy cob breed standard (see stallion exception below).
All exhibits must be registered (passports over-stamped) and owners and handlers be fully paid up members either prior to, or within 21 days of the show date. Existing members must present their qualification card to the judge in the ring for signature. Non members will receive a qualification slip from the judge and will need to join the TGCA and register their horse within the 21 day timeframe in order to validate this qualification.
All stallions (four years and over) must be licensed with the TGCA prior to the show and must display their TGCA stallion disc on their bridle when competing in order to qualify for TOYS. Non licensed stallions may compete in the Classes but are not eligible for qualification. All stallions and colts (two years and over) must be bitted when in the ring.
Foals born in the current year are not permitted to be shown in TGCA Classes, though they may be shown at TOYS.
Ridden Classes: Exhibits must be 4 years and over and comply with the above. Qualification will go to the top 3 up to 14hh and top 3 over 14h. Additional TOYS qualification is awarded to the highest placed junior rider and the highest placed exhibitor eligible for the restricted category in the Class (i.e. rider and exhibit NOT to have qualified for HOYS, RIHS, or been placed 1st to 3rd at any county level or in any TOYS Finals in the last 24 months). Cards need to be signed for the categories.
For Shows that are invited to run as a TGCA Quest Show, the TGCA Quest for a Star Championship is open to the first and second placed from the TGCA qualification Classes. This Championship Class is only open to current TGCA members (membership cards must be presented) and stallions must be already licensed with the TGCA and display their TGCA stallion disc on their bridle. Once you have qualified at an Area qualifier and you have received a Regional Acceptance card Only then may you compete in the Regional l final . The Regional Champions will go on to compete at the Senior Showing and Dressage Ltd Championship Supreme Final at the London International Horse Show at Olympia in December. QUALIFICATION FOR P(UK) SUMMER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
1st 2nd and 3rd placed horses/ponies in all Summer National Championships will qualify for the 2016. P(UK) Summer National Championships. Mixed height Classes 1st, 2nd and 3rd qualify only. Competitors in qualifying positions, who are not current members of P(UK) are allowed 14 days in which to become members and register their horses/ponies in order for the qualification to remain valid. The exception being any competitor qualifying at a show between 1 July and 31 July must submit their membership within 48 hours after the qualifying event in order for the qualification to remain valid. Lee Smith Members are Eligible to qualify for Lee Smith finals at the Summer National Championships. Lee-Smith Competition Cards must be completed and signed by the judge for each National Championship during the judging process of the qualifying Championship. Please apply for your Lee-Smith Competition Card on the membership form. NO QUALIFICATION CARDS WILL BE PRESENTED IN THE RING. Where a Confined Novice qualifier is combined within an Open Class the highest placed confined novice horse/pony wearing a white armband will qualify.
WORKING SHOW HORSE RULES - All affiliated Open Working Show Horse Classes are qualifiers for the SEIB Working Show Horse of the Year Championship, to be held at the BSHA National Championship Show. The two highest placed horses, in the top five, not already qualified in each Open Working Show Horse class, will qualify for the Championships; no Horse placed lower than fifth will qualify. Those Shows held after the 2015 National Championship Show will carry the qualification(s) forward to 2015; see Rule 9 for further information.
Any Horse which is a Grade B Showjumper, Intermediate Eventer, or above, as at the 1st January of the current year, is not eligible to compete in any Working Show Horse class. A Rider may ride up to two Horses in the jumping phase but must then select one Horse to take through to the Ride and Conformation phases (if required). No change of Rider is allowed. When jumping in the Ring, the practice or collecting area, all Riders must wear protective headgear, according to the current approved BSI or European Standard. Skullcaps must be worn with a dark coloured plain peaked cover. Horses may wear protective boots, of a plain colour, for the jumping phase only; no weighted boots are permitted; no change of tack is permitted between jumping and flat phases. Jumps: Novice: minimum 2’3 maximum 2’6, maximum spread 2’6. Open: minimum 2’9 maximum 3’0, maximum spread 3’0 Please note that the height of the jumps may be raised at the National Championship Show at the discretion of the Course Builder/Show Director. Scoring: Jumping - 40, Style - 20, Conformation, movement and type - 20, Ride and manners - 20 Penalties: Knockdown - 10, 1st Refusal - 15 2nd Refusal - 20, 3rd Refusal - Elimination, Fall of Horse/Rider or Error of Course - Elimination Stepping back at any obstacle on the course will be counted as a refusal. Working Show Horse Judging: to be judged on jumping, style, conformation and ride. Movement, type and manners will all be considered. Judges should ask the class to gallop (conditions permitting). Exhibits should be judged under the same procedure as Working Hunters and they should be well schooled.
