Terms and Conditions
1. These Terms and Conditions apply to all competitors and spectators and must be adhered to at all times. Entry into any competition, including the hire of the Centre, shall be deemed an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions

2. Aintree International Equestrian Centre, Aintree Racecourse Developments Limited and Aintree Racecourse Company Limited reserve the right to refuse entry/hire without stating the reason, to cancel the competition and all rights of admission.

3. Aintree International Equestrian Centre, Aintree Racecourse Developments Limited and Aintree Racecourse Company Limited do not accept any responsibility or liability for any injury, accident, damage or illness to any person, property or animal whatsoever, or for any loss whatsoever, arising out of, or occurring at any competition, show or event. It shall be a condition of entry, each entrant shall indemnify the organisers against any legal action whatsoever arising from any accident.

4. Everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the officials and stewards.

5. All entry, stable and hire fees include VAT@ 20%. All entries and hire fees must be paid for in full prior to leaving the Show. A £15 administration fee will be payable on any outstanding accounts or dishonoured cheques, plus interest.

6. All prize money will be paid out on the day of the Show and must be collected from the Secretary’s Office before 6.00p.m. Prize money not collected on the day will be forfeited.

7. All horses and ponies using the Stables must have a current and valid certificate of vaccination against equine flu. There will be random checking of certificates, any queries regarding this, please call the Show Secretary.

8. All entries must be made on the entry form with full entry fees. Every Exhibitor and Competitor will be held responsible for the correctness of his or her entry forms and if he/she fails, when called upon by the Stewards or Show to prove the correctness of such entry, the entry may be disqualified and any award made to it cancelled.

9. No motor bikes or scooters are allowed on the Racecourse. All dogs must be kept on leads and under proper control at all times.

10. Any individual seen to be causing distress or suffering to any animal will be asked to leave the Racecourse and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

11. No horse or pony under the age of 4 years shall be ridden in any Class.

12. Full and correct attire must be worn by all competitors when riding. For jumping Classes all competitors and grooms, when mounted, must wear a British Standard skull/hard hat, which must be fastened. Failure to do so will incur elimination. Aintree Equestrian Centre accepts no responsibility for any injury arising from a failure to comply with this.

13. Any competitor who is considered by the organisers, stewards, judges to have received outside assistance without prior permission, will be eliminated from the Class.

14. Entries received after the close of entry (Friday 11th July) will be charged a £10 surcharge for each Class entered.

15. All Breed/Society registration numbers must be given where applicable.

16. All Competitor numbers are to be collected from the Secretary’s Office on arrival at the Showground.

17. The Organisers reserve the right to appoint a replacement Judge whenever it is deemed necessary.

18. Objection to entries or awards must be made in writing to the Secretary on the Show Day, accompanied by a deposit of £20 which will be refunded if the objection is sustained.

19. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel, limit, divide or amalgamate any Class.

20. The decision of the Judge is final.

21. Horses and ponies may be measured at the discretion of the Judge unless in possession of a valid J.M.B. height certificate.

22. No animal suffering from a contagious disease may be brought onto the Racecourse.

23. In the event of a Veterinary Surgeon advising the removal of any animal from the Show his decision shall be final and immediately complied with.

24. All disputes shall be referred to the Aintree Equestrian Centre Organisers, whose decision is final.

25. All persons entering, competing or exhibiting an animal in a Class covered by a Breed or Showing Society either to which the Aintree National Showing Show is affiliated or which is affiliated to the Aintree National Showing Show shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the relevant Breed or Showing Society and be subject to its constitution and rules (including any disciplinary procedures).

26. Exhibitors must provide their own armbands. Anyone who fails to wear an armband when this has been requested will be debarred from competing for that Special Award.

27. This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (BSPS) and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS Classes, whether or not members of the BSPS are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the Society, including the Disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS

28. Exhibitors are responsible for all costs in connection with any veterinary treatment given on the Showground and must be settled at the time with the Veterinary Surgeon concerned.

29. Strictly no admittance to the Showground/Racecourse prior to 5.30 a.m. on the morning of the Show. Strictly NO EXERCISING of animals on the Showground/Racecourse prior to 5.30am. on the day of the Show. Anyone found infringing these rules will be disqualified from entering the Show and no refund of entry fees will be made.

30. It is a condition of entry that exhibitors conform with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and for ensuring that safe working practices are followed by themselves, their employees, Agents and Contractors. Exhibitors shall at all times comply with the instructions of the Show Officials.

31. Exhibitors Risk and Responsibility – Neither AINTREE RACECOURSE or AINTREE INTERNATIONAL EQUESTRIAN CENTRE, NOR ANY OF IT’S OFFICERS OR SERVANTS SHALL BE IN ANY WAY RESPONSIBLE or accountable for anything that may happen (from any cause or circumstances whatsoever) to exhibitors or their servants or agents or to any exhibit or to any vehicle carrying any exhibit or anything else brought into the Showground or for anything else arising out of the Show. EACH EXHIBITOR shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss or injury or damage done to or commissioned by or arising from any animal or article exhibited by him or her and shall indemnify the Show against all legal or other proceedings in regard thereto.

32. The Aintree National Show cannot be responsible for the clashing of Classes and exhibitors should bear this in mind when making their entries. We cannot guarantee timings, it is up to the competitor to keep an eye on when their class is. Entry fees WILL NOT be refunded if you miss your class or your class clashes.

33. No member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete in any showing Classes at Aintree National Showing Show without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk of injury.

34. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to insure all property and animals on the showground or elsewhere which is his/her own, or for which he/she is responsible. Exhibitors should effect Employers Liability Insurance where this is required by statute.
REFUNDS will only be given on the production of a valid veterinary certificate. Class entry fee and first aid fee will only be refunded. Online booking fee NOT included.
POSTPONEMENT OR ABANDONMENT Exhibitors shall not have any claim against the Aintree National Show in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever consequent upon the Show failing (for whatever reason) to be held. Under no circumstances will entry fees be returned in the case of postponement or cancellation of the Show for whatever reason.

COMPETITORS MUST MAKE THEMSELVES AWARE OF ANY RULES REGARDING ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE, AS LAID DOWN BY THE SOCIETY TO WHICH THEIR CLASSES ARE AFFILIATED.

Hat Rules at Aintree National Show
Aintree National Show follows the rules of it’s affiliated Societies.  For clarification, in SHB (Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain) and BSPS (British Show Pony Society) Classes, hats with chinstraps are mandatory, BSHA (British Show Horse Association) ‘recommends’ the wearing of a British Standard Safety Hat at all times,  CHAPS require a 3 point harness riding hat to be worn by all Junior competitors and all other CHAPS competitors should refer to the Show rules.  Aintree National Show rules state that it ‘strongly recommends that current hats to the standard PAS015, EN1384 or ASTM F1163 with either a kite mark or SE1 correctly fastened should be worn in all ridden Classes.  For other affiliated Classes please refer to the society’s rules.
