Notes

A guided hack round the Royal Academy Sandhurst in support of the Armed Forces Equine Charity.

Two routes will be avaliable on the day suitable for all level of riders: 

Route One:  A field master will guide you around the impressive grounds of the academy, then out onto Barossa training area a with its timber fences on reliably sandy heathland where the going is always good.Max 25 people per group. Walk, trot and canter. 

Route Two: A shorter guided route around the military academy only in walk and trot. Max 15 people per group.

The route on Barossa winds and weaves through beautiful forestry and heathland with a large range of optional jumps ranging from 1'6" to 3'. 

Pricing per route taken: 

Route One: £40 per rider 

Route Two: £30 per rider

Online entries & payment only.  No entries on the day. Start times are available on a first come, first served basis.  Please book into your chosen start time slot when you enter.  Slots will close when full.  If a group would like to ride together, please make sure you all book into the same time slot.

Terms & conditions

1.  All riders must wear hard hats/crash helmets to BS EN 1384 1997 or PAS 015 1998 standards, body protectors are recommended but not mandatory at a fun ride.  Medical armbands are optional.

 

2.  Horses and ponies must be at leaat 4 years old.

 

3. Equine Influenza Requirements:  All horses and ponies coming to the Fun Ride must have had their fi

3. Equine Influenza Requirements:  All horses and ponies coming to the Fun Ride must have had their first 2 vaccinations of the course and/or a booster within the last 12 months. 6 monthly boosters are recommended. Passports will be checked.

 

4. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

 

5.  Children under the age of 12 must be escorted by an adult.

 

6.  Riders must not deviate from the course under any circumstances.  Any rider found riding in a reckless or dangerous manner will be asked to leave.

 

7.  The Organisers, the Staff College Draghounds Ltd, the volunteers, the Land Owners and all persons involved with the running of the ride, disclaim all liability for any damage or injury to any persons or property, howsoever caused, whether by negligence or otherwise.  By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you confirm that you hold appropriate public liability insurance for you and your horse.

 

8.  The decision of the Organisers on any matter shall be final.

 

9.  Riders agree to comply with all instructions from any of the Organisers or Stewards.

 

10. Should the event be cancelled due to inclement weather or due to reasons beyond the control of the Organiser, refunds will be issued less a £5.00 administration levy.

 

11.  By entering the Barossa Charity Ride, riders agree to these Rules and Conditions of Entry.

 

Staff College Draghounds Fun Rides are run by and on behalf of Staff College Draghounds Ltd, Registered Company No. 12189519, a Not For Profits Limited Company.

Refund policy

Refunds will be issues as long as at least 24 hours notice is given prior to the event starting. 

Refund requests outside of this window will not be honored. 

By booking in to this event, you (the purchaser) agree to the terms and conditions regarding refunds.
