We are all mindful of the public perception of riding and the use of whips and spurs. The Pony Club absolutely does not condone the ill treatment of any animal.
Over the past few months Pony Club have rewritten our tests to reflect our greater understanding of how horses learn and how we can enhance the horse/human relationship. The use of additional aids including whips and spurs can be effective when they are used sensitively and appropriately. From January 1st 2025, any member wishing to ride with spurs MUST have achieved their C+ Riding Test or this Spurs Test. Please find these Syllabuses linked below.
The nominated candidate must have the following in place:
• Pony Club C+ Test Complete (or appropriate equivalent, ie the BHS Stage 2) for sitting the B Test.
• Pony Club B Care Test or Full B Test (or appropriate equivalent, ie the BHS Stage 3) for sitting the Lunge Test.
• Pony Club B Test Complete and Lunge Test (or appropriate equivale
The nominated candidate must have the following in place:

AND understands that
• the Candidate has receive training in the subjects required and is prepared for this Test.
• the Candidate may have to change horses and another Candidate will ride the Candidate’s horse.
• their horse brought to the Test may be suitable and safe for all parts of the Test.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
• In the event of a Candidate failing the Test a new nomination application must be submitted together with a further fee.
• Having failed, a Candidate may not re-take the Test until a minimum of three months has elapsed after their unsuccessful attempt.

For a withdrawl, 2 weeks notice is needed.
For a full refund, a doctor or vet letter is needed.
Withdrawal
• I accept I can withdraw up to the entry close date if I have a valid vet certificate / doctors note.
Abandonment
• Events are subject to cancellation or rescheduling at our discretion.
• If the Event is cancelled in its entirety, we will communicate the refund process to you as soon as possible.
• I accept that I will receive a 50% refund in any instance that The Pony Club is required to abandon an event and agree to follow the refund process that will be communicated to receive this refund.
• The Pony Club shall not be liable for any additional loss or damage resulting from such cancellation or changes.
• We reserve the right to cancel, suspend or vary the operation of our contract with you if events occur which are outside of our reasonable control and we shall not be responsible for any breach of contract, nor for any loss or damage, resulting from
such an event.
