Should any rider require reasonable adjustments to support their access to the event, Members’ Personal Profiles should be up-to-date and shared with the Event Secretary at least 2 weeks before the event (dc.haydockpark@pcuk.org). Requested adjustments for the competition event should be clear. This will enable the Event Secretary to consider these requests in advance of the competition. SPRING FESTIVAL AREA QUALIFIERS

DATE OF FINAL: 1st & 2nd March 2025 at Addington Equestrian

DCs, parents and/or members MUST ensure that they are familiar with these rules and comply with eligibility criteria.

The competition comprises:

• The individual competition – the scores for all competitors in the competition automatically count for this competition. It is also open to all competitors in the team competition (below). 

• The team competition – open to teams that must consist of three members from each Branch/Centre with all three scores to count.

Numbers to qualify – please see below. In the event of a competitor being placed in a qualifying position when they are not able to attend the final, the place may pass down the line. 

Individuals: The top two individuals from each arena will qualify. If any of the individual qualifiers are in a qualifying team their place will be passed down the line. 

Teams: The top Branch/Centre team from each Area at each level will qualify. Where a qualifying individual is a member of a qualifying team, the qualifying individual place should be passed down the line.

Commanders – with the exception of Grassroots  level, commanders are not permitted at Area Competitions, unless Reasonable Adjustment has been given.

WINTER SERIES TEAM COMPETITION

The team competition is open to any member of any age riding at any level (with the exception of lead rein riders and those competing in the Walk/Trot Test) subject to:

·        Riders who are competing in the series at Intermediate and Open level and/or have BD points at Novice level or above will ride the BD Novice test.

·        Riders who are competing in the series at PC Novice or below and have no BD points at Novice or above will ride the BD Prelim test.

Each team will be awarded points across the series. Rosettes will be awarded to the top 6 teams and a trophy awarded to the overall winning branch at the final competition of the series in February 2025. 

SUBSTITUTIONS

After the closing date for substitutions may only be made as per PC Dressage Rules 2024.

DCs should email any changes after the closing date to  dc.haydockpark@pcuk.org

WITHDRAWALS & REFUNDS

Full refunds will be given up until the closing date of the competition (minus the non-refundable booking fee).

After the closing date no refunds will be made without a Doctor’s or Vet’s certificate produced no later than 24 hours after the event. If produced after this no refunds will be given.

Refunds, where due after the closing date, are subject to an admin fee of £5.00.

In the event of abandonment 50% of the entry fee will be refunded.

PRIZES & PRIZE GIVING

In each round points will awarded for the top six combinations in each class. An overall prize will be awarded to the points winners in each class at the end of the series. Rosettes will be presented to 1st – 6th in all classes.

There will be an unmounted presentation after each class. If competitors are unable to stay, a Branch representative may collect rosettes / sheets or competitors can provide a stamped, self-addressed envelope so that rosettes/sheets can be posted.

Members wishing to enter the Spring Festival Qualifier classes must comply with the rules for this event

Lead rein riders & those competing in the Walk / Trot Test may not enter any other class in the series.

ENTRY CONDITIONS

·        To be run in accordance with Pony Club Dressage Rules 2024 Rulebook-Dressage-2024-Final_Web-v050624.pdf and  THE-BARRIER-SPRING-FESTIVAL-2025-ENGWAL-ALL-RULES-final.pdf

·        From 01.01.2025, the Pony Club Spurs Rule will be followed – please ensure that all riders who wish to use spurs have passed the Spurs Test or C+ Riding Test and have an appropriate hat tag to evidence this.

 

·        Please remember it is the member’s responsibility to ensure that they comply with the Pony Club rules.  Event tack check is in place to ensure all riders compete safely.

·        DCs - Please ensure your members comply with 2024 eligibility re hat tagging and that a responsible adult is present.

·        Back numbers will be provided – please collect in the office when booking in with horse passport.

·        Late entries may be accepted at the organiser’s discretion if numbers allow. Late Entry Surcharge £5.00 – no exceptions.

·        Queries may only be raised to the Event Secretary by the DC or their appointee. 

·        Photographic Rights – competitors and their parents/guardians have given permission for any photographic and/or film or TV footage taken of persons or horses/ponies taking part in Pony Club events to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of the Pony Club and/or Official Sponsors of the Pony Club.

·        A valid passport and vaccination record must accompany the horse/pony to this event and must be available for inspection if required by event officials. Vaccinations (annual) must be in accordance with the Pony Club Dressage Rule Book 2024 / Vaccination Rule 2024

LEGAL LIABILITY

Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.

HEALTH, SAFETY & WELFARE

The Organisers of this Event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present.  For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers and all the Officials and Stewards.
