This competition incorporates our Native Pony Championships. 

Please add a note to your entry if you are eligible for the Pure Bred Native Championships.  Championships will take scores from Affiliated and Unaffiliated classes for Intro A, Prelim 19, Novice 39, Elementary 53, Medium 75, Advanced Medium 98 and Freestytle to Music from Novice to Advanced Medium.

Native Pony Dressage Championships Rules 2022

 1.     The Championship is an open competition; you do not need to qualify in order to enter. The only criteria for the Championship classes is that you must be riding a pure bred native pony which must be registered as one of the following 12 native breeds: Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Dales, New Forest, Highland, Welsh A B C or D or Connemara.

 2.     You must enter the appropriate level according to BD rules plus the following restrictions also apply - horses must not have gained 30 points or more at the level above the class that they intend to compete in.

 3.     Horses who have previously competed at a higher level than they are currently competing at may only enter classes 2 levels below the highest level at which they have previously competed. Regardless of the rider. e.g.- If a horse has competed at medium, they can only enter the championships at Novice level or above.

 4.     The Native Championship classes will be held as additional classes incorporated into your ‘normal’ affiliated or unaffiliated class but please specify when you enter if you are eligible to take part in the Native Championships.  You will only ride the one test that you enter but those results will feed into the Championship class.  You may well even get two rosettes, one for the affiliated/unaffiliated class and a second rosette for the Native Championships.  Please do contact the competition secretary if you have any questions.
