The British Dressage North & East Region’s BD Youth Camp is open to all riders from the age of 6 – 25 (BD Youth). All levels are welcome from those just starting in Dressage to BD competition riders. This is an opportunity to spend 2 full days with your horse/pony focusing on developing your dressage skills at one of the region’s BD competition venues. In addition to the Bishop Burton Arena there are further indoor and all weather arenas, on site café, showers and stabling. The weekend package includes: 2 Shared Lessons (3/4 hr) 1 test riding analysis & feedback from BD Youth Rider Test Assessors (Saturday) Competitive Rider skills test and BD test riding (Sunday) Rider profiling and Goal setting for 2023 Dressage specific session Rider physio and biomechanics Dengie nutritionist Team activities and meeting (Friday) Rider meal Saturday with Gala Evening with demonstration 2 nights stabling £295 BD members inc Club membership £325 Community & Non BD members.There are a number of local hotels and B and B’s in the area Food/drinks will be available from the café on Saturday and Sunday.
Charlotte Wilson
Charlotte runs Snainton Riding Centre near Scarborough, North Yorkshire. She is a BD List 3a dressage Judge, a UKCC Level 3 British Dressage Accredited Coach and UKCC Level 3 Generic Coach. Charlotte also holds the British Horse society's Instructors certificate (BHSI) As Northern coaching representative she is very keen to develop coaching opportunities within the region.
Jess Griffiths
Jess is a UKCC level 3 coach and a List 4 judge, living in Caistor where she trains and competes her own horses. She has attained a PGCE and previously taught in a primary school. She has competed at many Regional, Team and National Championships. Jess loves coaching and seeing people achieve their potential with their horse. Everybody is welcome, Jess has a rider-centred and inclusive approach in her coaching. She trains with Amy and Tracy Woodhead and with their coaching and support has trained her own horse through the levels to PSG. She very much follows their coaching belief that it is a bout the journey and individual to horse and rider. She has also greatly benefited from much of the training opportunities provided through British Dressage. Jess was a keen member of the BYRDS (BD YOUTH), competing at the home international and inter-regioanal team competitions and attending numerous camps.
Emily Hedger
Emily is a UKCC Level 3 qualified coach and professional rider.
She began riding at a young age and specialised in dressage in her early teens and has been fortunate enough to train with some of the UKs top coaches and riders. She competed through the BYRDS (now BD Youth) system and represented GBR internationally. She is now training towards Under 25 Grand Prix.
Her competition experience has been key for her as a coach and she specialises in helping young riders develop their skills and knowledge to help them achieve their goals.
